Battlefield PC Beta Discussion Thread

Every time the game is about to end I lose connection. Other then that I haven't had to many problems.
 
Looks like one of the main DICE guys "leaked" the password to Caspian Border.
 
Runs smooth for me, I just hate Battlelog. I feel like I'm about to play Angry Birds or some browser game.
 
I'm really enjoying the leveling process. It's dynamic and has a lot of depth.
 
Spent about an hour on Caspian Border and I still don't know why they didn't include it in the public beta without a password.

Would probably require too many servers for an open beta to have 2 different game modes. If most of the people wanted to play Conquest, but only half of the servers are Conquest and the other half are Rush, then you've got overloaded servers for one, and open servers for the other. Honestly, I'd love to be able to play Caspian Border, but I kinda understand their reasoning.

They've also been using Op. Metro Rush for just about every gameplay video/event so they've probably got a majority of the bugs/balance issues figured out compared to Caspian Border Conquest
 
Since beta is now open the division discussion has now exploded with new threads about the beta and other issues with either game disconnect or what have you I must request that we keep all discussion about the beta in this thread and all troubleshooting/Bug information in the thread that is linked below. Eh, yea maps will have glitches and some areas that need to be blocked, but I think it's mostly the core coding and animations that need some more TLC. Metro is awesome, despite dying consistently throughout the whole map due to invisible players, glitchers, etc.

One noticeable bug I found was if you were utilizing the bipod, died, and then resurrected--you will, for a short while, remain locked in place for about 5 seconds since the game thinks you are still using the bipod. I actually couldn't use my mouse during that time as well.
 
I would think by now EA would learn to get better servers, but what do you know they still don't.
 
Since this is the spiffy BF3 discussion thread, I figured I'd just drool over the game here. Played beta, nuff said.
 
I really hate launching the game from my web browser. And the fact that I can't change my name annoys me. Using Origin is annoying. Played the game for about 10 minutes, can't say I was blown away or anything. Doubt I'll buy it.
 
Dl'd it on my PS3 yesterday. Nooby console players are fun to shoot, lol.

Seems even though DICE doesn't have server-side clients for people, people have managed to start servers in the beta with Operation Metro Conquest. On top of that, I guess they have Admin Powers to do things like you will see in the video I took above. I was so confused when rockets started flying everywhere, and then the guy running the server said "Unlimited Ammo"

I thought they were legit EA Servers testing Conquest version .. and I was wrong. x_x
 
I played briefly on Metro Conquest with a 128 slot server. It was insane. If I was to sum it up in one word it would probably be.. grenades.
 
By the way .. I don't recommend going on the hacked servers. After I found out they were hacked servers, I searched it and EA said that the creators of the servers may be able to gain access to your account and end up getting your EA Account banned.

I think it's a scare tactic for people to avoid the servers since DICE didn't expect this to happen, but, better safe than sorry!

I've changed my Origin Password just to be sure.

Also, So apparently Squad management will not be in game. Battlelog only. So no in game joining whatever squad you like. That is SO stupid! DICE better change this. There's actually a petition about it here: http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf...!/bf3/forum/threadview/2826551518957135846/1/ as well as there is a poll on the EA UK Forums. Granted, these petitions won't do anything, but I hope DICE hears the community and gives us open squads.

Yea I saw those too and wondered what was one. Of them told me I had the wrong game version when I tried to join.

I also had an issue lately where the little arrows and nametags over your team (as well as the 3d spotting arrows on enemies) seemed to have disappeared.

Because of those two reasons, I right clicked the game in origin to check for an update.

Apparently it found one, dont know if this is an actual update or if my files were corrupted or something but either way, its downloading another full 3.9 gb file. Anyways else hear or see anything about them doing any updates?

Also, everyone go sign that thing about the squads, that might be the stupidest thing they have done with the game.
 
Does anyone else feel that the rocket launchers are a bit under powered--probably more so with AA launchers? I actually had to shoot three stinger rockets in order to take a jet down because of regeneration...Jesus!

Which is another thing: magical armor repairs. Stay gold EA. Bang.
