Still waiting for AMD bulldozer here. At this point, I really don't give a damn how it performs, i just want the damn thing released. I can only ride this C2D so much longer. It is a major bottleneck, especially when trying to game at 5304x1050.


So yea, I've been waiting since the end of 2010, when it was supposed to be released. Had a 2600K for a little while, got bored, so I sold it.

SHOW THE THE MONEY AMD!!!!!!!


So anyone else waiting like me?
 
got bored of the 2600k...lmao ...doesnt make any since....i was waiting on BD for a while when i was with amd ... got sick of waiting and went with the 2600k and glad i did
 
2600k was literally the most boring chip i have owned.

Got to 5.4GHz in 10 min, spent the next 4 hours trying to get 55, no luck. Cold doesn't help it, absurd amounts of voltage don't help it. It is literally trying trying to smash your face into a brick wall and hoping it will fall down.

With BD actually shaping up to be something that will scale in the cold, and allow for bus adjustments as well as multiplier adjustments, i am pretty excited.
 
BD is going to be neat, but the initial performance numbers are disappointing. Here's to hoping that these "leaks" aren't real, or AMD has some sort of magic driver optimization that makes performance jump 50% that will be released at launch.
 
Most boring chip? From a overclocking standpoint I can see that... But when a 300 dollar chip can beat out a 1000 dollar chip (990x) Ill take performance any day
 
As big an AMD fanboi as I might be, I really don't care. I won't be buying a new rig for at least a year. If anything I'll just be tweaking the one I have more and more.

If rumors were correct, BD would have launched 9 months ago, and Bulldozer Enanced should be launching about now along with new AMD chipsets....
 
Whats all the hubbub about the BD. I'm a PC building noob here, so I'm pretty out of the loop. (Laymen's terms please)

Way back when dual cores didn't exist, and Intel had the Pentium series, AMD had Athlon, AMD was kicking Intel's ass. Hardcore. IIRC, that was a new architecture for AMD, and it was clearly awesome for the time. Then Intel came out with a new architecture, Core Duo, and AMD couldn't compete. AMD hasn't released a new architecture, just revisions of the K6 (or one of those, someone correct me if I'm wrong) architecture.

Bulldozer is a completely new architecture, and some think it may trump Intel again. Since there are no official benchmarks leaked, no one knows how it actually performs except the people at AMD and anyone who has an engineering sample.

So pretty much its a similar feeling to before the Nintendo Wii came out and people thought Nintendo were going to make a comeback....they were wrong.

This could very well go the same way...

Um. if the Wii wasn't a comeback, I have no idea what is. Those things sold like crazy.
