I only use my market gardener for marketing reasons only.

But cool video!

"How to Make the Best out your Market Gardener"

craft it into scrap

If only I knew how to change my title :3

EDIT>Go Advanced>Backspace Text in Title Box>Type "How to craft scrap metal".

Also, the Market Gardener is still UP when compared to the equalizer. In addition, the shoot feet, get kill method is more effective in my opinion.

That was the whole point of me doing this. Watching replays of efficient RL and equalizer kills is boring, because it's expected of you to be efficient. But getting kills with weapons that have a ridiculous skill floor and a reasonably high skill ceiling is fun to watch and interesting to see someone using the efficient weapons be killed by someone using the "joke" weapons.

I don't want the Market Gardener to be OP like the equalizer. That's the other point. The Rocket Launcher and Equalizer basically hand hold you through a lot of kills. Using the more difficult to wield weapons means that my player skill is high enough to match another's skill with a weapon that requires a lot of precision for the soldier, something he's desperately needed imo.

In the stritctest sense of the word powered, the Market Gardener is not underpowered in any way. The axtinguisher gets 100% crits when a certain criteria is met, does it not? I say the Gardener isn't UP at all; it's actually a little overpowered on paper. What balances it is player skill. A bad player would not be capable of fulfilling the criteria for the crit boost and would thus have no need for it; they can just use the equalizer, which gives them nothing but benefits for doing nothing but taking damage from the other team. A good rocket jumper, however, would be able to take advantage of this and use his ability to be precise in fulfilling that criteria, and the weapon would become useful and capable of high burst damage. I've used the MG on at least ten occasions to flank the heavy and instantly kill his full charge medic. All this "market is UP" nonsense is totally uncalled for because people just don't want to learn how to use something that requires complex maneuvering to be effective.

Perhaps this is true. However, someone who is able to do well with these "joke weapons" would be able to preform even better while using the Equalizer and RL. Here's a counter-example. A kill montage of a Spy using the Kunai effectively is entertaining, but said spy would be able to preform better with the Vanilla knife. I do agree that it's interesting to see these weapons in use.

Using a difficult weapon may be fun, but the "hand holding weapons" also allow precision to shine. For example, airshots with the RL.

I disagree. The balancing factor is the very small window in which a ground target can be dispatched with a crit. If the bonus still applied .5 seconds after touching the ground, the weapon would be far more useful. In fact, even if this was implemented, simply shooting rockets at your foes would still be more effective with less room for error.

Respectfully yours,

I can agree with those sentiments. Still, if I was on 50 health and only had one rocket against a soldier I'd rather try to connect with the gardener than hope for a random crocket. As a last ditch weapon AND an ambush weapon it works extremely well because the damage is localized to one person; it's a very quiet attack until it's too late i.e. fatal. Then you either fight or run.
Plus it's not a primary weapon for a reason; I've just been keeping the thought that I have one in mind and actively look for a situation where it would come in handy like a straggling medic or an escaping enemy

How to make the best out of your Market Gardener:

Step 1: Acquire, by some means, a Market Gardener.

Step 2: Proceed to murder the enemy with your Market Gardener.

Congratulations, you have just made the best out of your Market Gardener.

(^ Read the above in either an Upper-class English accent or a tv advertisement announcer accent)

Seriously: Some maps are obviously more suited (ie, Egypt) than others (ie, Mesa) for the Gardener, but if you need to crit the enemy something bad, it might be a good weapon with the right skill. of course, if the Rocket Jumper gets the Sticky Jumper treatment (change projectiles, no longer increases damage taken) it might be an effective primary to build an entire Rocket Jumper set: (Rocket Jumper, Bison for enemies too dangerous/far away to risk meleeing, and Market Gardener). But this is just a random silly idea that occurred to me.

The problem with the jumper is that with it you lack the damage needed to finish off an enemy with the shovel or mantreads by yourself. It's why I use the black box with them; it synergizes very well and also matches the mantreads.
The RJ isn't quite as versatile as the SJ, but I suppose it could work.
