Automatic sprinklers turned on in the rich Rockcliffe Park around this time since nobody is usually on the lawn. Stores are getting shut down all over because of the nine o'clock curfew here.

************Teens and children usually go inside at this time, but there was a certain person, Doug, who seems to be hanging around at a house he has never been to before. This is his usual run for the gang 613. This is a dangerous gang that has two motives. 1) Own the drug trade. 2) Do not let other gangs over power you. To get into this gang you either have to hurt someone, or steal something with a value of $2000 or greater. Now to know what something's value is, you need to do research. This is what Doug is here for. To do research on a diamond ring in the master bedroom at the address 2364 Rockcliffe Park.

************Ever since 2008, he's been a researcher for the gang. When he does his work, he spends days, even weeks on an item he wants to know. That is what makes him the best at his work. To do the work though, it involves breaking into the place without being noticed, and taking pictures of it to look at back at his home. He does not know though, that Rockcliffe Park is the most guarded neighbourhood in the city.

************This is his first time being there, and he's there not knowing that the neighbourhood watch actually does its job and watches out for their neighbours. That's what got him caught today. At ten o'clock on July 9th, Doug's life changes forever. He was seen by a man across the street while he was walking up the sidewalk, and when he got too close to the door the man called to police to report him. Being the most guarded neighbourhood in the city, there was a police station a few blocks away. This means, the police got there in less than a minute. Doug tried to run but he wasn't sneaky enough to get by the police.

************Once he got caught and thrown into the police car, he was given two options by his captors. “Would you like to go to prison like a regular street rat, or would you like to repair your messed up life, and actually make something with your life.” said the officer on the right. “Do not ask any questions about where we are taking you if you answer with number two. We will not answer any questions concerning it.” In Doug's mind, dozens of things were floating around. Who are these guys? What do they want with me? So of course, without thinking about his old life at all, “I want a new life.”

************“Where am I?” Doug says to himself when he looks up to see palm trees and a bright blue and sunny sky. “You are in Jamaica. Montego Bay, to be exact. This is the beach, up the hill to your right is the Hall of Heroes.” Says the officer from the police car, who is not wearing his uniform anymore. The officer was wearing mirror lens aviators, a colourful hawaiin tye dye shirt you would find in Giant Tiger and white shorts with lines all over them for art. Weirdly, his hair seemed like it was glowing white. In his hand was a drink with an umbrella hanging off the side. Probably alcohol. “How did I get here? We were just in Ottawa last night.” The officer cracks a small grin, turns to look at Doug and replies, “You've been here for a week and a half. In the car driving out of town I made you faint and then we drugged you to make sure you would not wake up during the flight.” Doug was confused, did he just say that he made me faint? “What do you mean you made me faint?” asked Doug, who was not expecting the answer that came. “Oh, because I can control the minds of humans. But it is limited to that, only humans, not other heroes. Be sure to come up the hill to the hall when you are ready, showers and clothes are that way.” And he pointed to the left of me to some wooden buildings with hay roofs.

Puzzled but grateful, Doug walked out of the shower already dry from the blistering sun above, and started walking toward the hall. It was a lot bigger than what it looked like from below, the pillars holding the roof up were at least twenty feet high, and the building itself was the length of a football field. No walls, just an open hall with desks here and there, those cool 3 meter long rotating blackboards with complicated math problems all over them.

************“Oh you made it!” Said the officer from the middle of the hall. He was surrounded by a dozen other teenagers my age. “Yeah uh, what should I call you anyway, you never told me your name or anything like that.” The other kids around him all looked at Doug as if he was one of them. Like they all knew what his fate would be. “You can call me Professor David. How about you come have a seat so I can start explaining again what is going to happen with all of you.” There was an open spot beside a beautiful girl with luscious blond hair, on the verge of white, and blue eyes. She looked to be very athletic. When she looked at me she smiled and said “Hi, I'm Amanda.” “Today we are going to be talking about what you are doing here. Why my colleague and I brought you here is to turn your life around. Everyone says the best things in life always happen to the people who deserve it. That isn't true at all. Think about it, the people who try hard definitely are better than you, but here you are. That is no accident. You all used to be people who hurt and abused people for fun. But you all agreed to come here to change your ways. That shows you have a good heart.” Professor David continued to talk to us about what is going on. He explained that his partner and him are from another place, not Earth. They both have incredible power that is limited here. And they are going to teach us that power once we are ready.

************Over the next six months, Doug and the other teenagers learn to be good, kind-hearted and overall better people. Doug and Amanda really hit it off, they really have a thing for each other but neither is confident enough to admit it to one another. Professor says that Doug has the heart of a lion, which opens him up to more power, the power to decide what he would like as his 'ability'. The abilities that we can choose to learn are incredible. There are so many to choose from, and all the time in the world. Professor says to learn the abilities though, you have to be one hundred percent that you are ready. If they just want a power because it would be cool, they aren't ready to be power beings.

He finally started dating Amanda, who was the star female in the class. The Professor has been feeding all the kids nothing but healthy meals for a year almost. Being in shape is a big part of helping yourself. Self discipline was taught to everyone to teach them how to prepare themselves for the hard times they will have indefinitely. It was time for Doug to choose his power. From this point on Doug had to use all the self discipline he has been taught. To learn a power he has to spiritually leave his body and go to the Professor's home planet. Which is too far to reach physically using Earth's technology.

What you're doing, is spiritually leaving your body and traveling faster than the speed of light to literally stop time while getting there. Are you ready?” The professor already knew the answer but asked anyway. “Let me fly!” Doug says eagerly, happy to finally be going. “Don't be too long, I'll get lonely here without you.” Amanda said as she kissed him on the cheek. Doug and Amanda stared into each other’s eyes for a while before parting.

During that time everyone continued their classes like usual. But something was different, the Professor seemed on edge. It must have been nothing important or he would tell everyone. So without a second thought every student just continued their normal day’s work.

He finally got to Trebla and it was beautiful. Fluorescent plants everywhere, and giant trees, but the people could not see him though. As he was a spirit on a journey, not a physical body. The professor told him to find the world tree with glowing strands of vine hanging down from the branches. From there he could find his way to the Holy Spring of Trebla. Which held the water blessed by the God, Hurcka.

So he did so, and like the professor said, Hurcka appeared. It seemed more beautiful than Godly. It had long flowing hair, white as the clouds in the sky. And also glowing white eyes, which appeared bright like the sun, if you looked into them too long your eyes hurt. Its body looked human enough, apart from the four arms and *unnaturally muscular body which glowed slightly. *“Hello little one, what do you ask of me today?” The being said in a calm and gentle voice. Doug thought for a second of what to respond, but eventually came up with, “I'm here on behalf of Professor David, to finish my quest and receive the power of my request. He said it could be anything I wanted, as long as it was to aid mankind.”

************Over the course of the four months, the God taught Doug his powers. He chose to teleport wherever he wished, in the blink of an eye, without considering physics. And also the power to manipulate matter at his will. Basically, Doug could change something's properties in a split second if he wished to. All the power he gained from Hurcka, he would use only for good. So this is when he teleports back to Earth in the blink of an eye. Professor David is there to greet him, but there are no students but Amanda there. Amanda was sitting down on the beach by herself *staring out onto the ocean like she was waiting for something, she doesn't have to wait much longer since Doug is back. Before he heads to the beach he asks where the students are. “They just left for a two week vacation trip, take this time while it lasts. Once you start saving people there's going to be no time for sitting around with your girlfriend. “ Professor David said with a low and sad voice.

************When Doug teleports, there is always a little explosion of air where he stands when he pops in out of nothing. Amanda does not know that yet, and she was startled when she heard him pop in. “Doug! You are finally back I missed you so much. But something has happened.” Amanda said in a sad tone. “Hey and yeah I am back, I missed this place so much. What is wrong?” Doug asked eagerly waiting for a response. Amanda looked like she was about to cry, and then tears started flowing down her cheeks. “Amanda tell me what is wrong!” Doug said, worried. All Amanda said as a reply was, “There's no way we can survive.”

************“What did you tell Amanda?” Doug asked furiously to Professor David. He looked at me with sad eyes. “The Mayan calendar ends on the twenty first of December this year. We have four days until then. *They have predicted the end of the world, I have seen it. You see, I haven't told you the whole truth about my powers. When Hurcka approved of them, I wasn't only able to control people's thoughts, I was also able to see the past, present and future. I've seen it. There is no way to prevent this. Doug was angry. Why hasn't the professor told anyone else but Amanda and I. What is his plan?

************It is December 21st, 2012. This is the final day that Earth will survive. What was to happen was that earthquakes, volcanoes, tornado’s, tsunami's, all the elements would unleash its greatest power. Earth is not a being, it is just a planet with natural occurrences and these just seem to be happening all at the same time. There is always a set date for when things have an end. This was Earth's set date.

************I can't sit here and let this happen, Doug thought to himself as the very Earth under him shook lightly as the world began to destroy itself. “My power is to change matter as I please. How do I change the elements to make them non violent Professor David?” “You can't. Just like there is a limit to everything else, there is a limit to your power. If you would want to change all that natural power, doing so would need more power than what you have. But, if you could get more power, you could possibly save Earth. Be warned though, doing so would require a sacrifice.”

Along with everyone else in the world. Just keep your eyes on the horizon.” The tears that dripped down Amanda's face were not of sadness, but of happiness. She realized that she had the most amazing guy in the world if he was willing to sacrifice everything to save her and the world. “Don't be too long now Doug, you know I don't like being lonely.” Amanda watched Doug walk away and then disappear in the blink of an eye before she fell to her knees in the sand and kept crying.

************“I accept your offer young child.” Hurcka said in his deep, kind voice. “Sing these words to the Earth while it tries to destroy itself. Be at rest! It will revert itself, it will be calm and still until someone else comes and reverses the process. Now go child, and I will be waiting for you.” Doug wipes his tears and thanks the God, and teleports back to Earth.

************Just like Doug said to Amanda, watch the horizon, she did. A beautiful green beam of light came from the sky to the ocean and let out a massive wave of air. She knew it was him. Just like the God said, sing those three words and the Earth with then stop its destructiveness. “Be at rest!” Doug sang in a sad but firm voice. The Earth stopped its shaking, the wind died down around him and the spray of the sea calmed until the water was completely still apart from where fish swam around. The volcanoes around the world began to close up, magma flowing backwards, back into the volcano. Tornado's dispersing into air. The God was telling the truth.
