So I was sitting at work today (Don't tell my boss ) and Battlefield 3 / eGO crossed my mind. It dawned on me that while I know many of my fellow division members by their voice/name, I really don't know them.

If there is another one of these threads roaming around, I believe it'd be in a General Board where every member of eGO can post, and we as a division would get lost within the hundreds of posts, so many of us fellow Battlefielders may not actually know who we game with on a daily basis.

That's where this thread comes in. The purpose of this thread is for members of the Battlefield Division to make a post about themselves. Just like we always used to do from Elementary School, all the way up through possibly College, all your teachers would make you write a "Who Am I" letter. I figure this would be an awesome way for us to get to know each other better, especially helpful for the =e= members to get themselves more known, and to learn more about who other members are.

Information:
-> A list of every member who posts in this thread will be kept below this post. Each name will be linked to their post.
-> The list will be divided for ease-of-use. It will go from top-to-bottom: Division Leaders / Advisors / =eGO= / =eG= / =e=
-> You can post a brief description of yourself, or create a novel. The choice depends on how open you are about yourself.
-> Feel free to copy and use my format if you wish..

About Me
I'm 22 years old, currently training on my physical fitness to join the United States Air Force, which, my goal is to enlist by the end of 2011 and be sent to basic in the early months of 2012. Prior to my decision to join the USAF, I was one of the lazier, more out of shape people you'd meet. (Not necessarily the fattest, but definitely lazy! Haha) At my worst of times, I was 5'11" weighing in at 245lbs with 0 muscle, I'm now at 5'11" @ 190lbs. My early life involved nothing more than playing video games. My first multiplayer experience was in 1999 at the age of 10 years old, my dad bought "Unreal Tournament". I can't tell you how many weekends were wasted away in that game. We only had 56k at the time, so I'd always sleep over my grandparents house (They had Unreal Tournament + Cable) and I'd go on these 8/hr day rampages in front of their PC. I played so much, I ended up blowing up my 466Mhz eMachine computer while I was playing. Power Supply literally went "BANG".

Since our computer was shot, me and my dad learned to build our own computer, so at age 11 I built my first PC. We had upgraded to, I believe, 800Mhz. (I think 1Ghz was like the fastest processor at the time). Ever since, I've been building and repairing PC's as a side job for co-workers, friends, friends of friends..etc

I've been gaming since, but, when I turned 16 years old, my main hobby was cars. I built up a 2005 Hyundai Tiburon GT to this: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kk3STfaSSkU[/ame] and then when I sold that, I bought a 2004 Pontiac GTO 5.7L and built that up to be one of the loudest cars around, and quite fast. (Though, never fast enough). Then early last year, I bought my first motorcycle which became my new found love. I am now on my 3rd motorcycle, a 2010 Kawasaki Z1000 which I've put quite a bit of money in.

So pretty much Gaming & Motorcycles is the jist of me.

Recently I've also gotten into photography with a friend of mine, which, our gallery can be found here: http://www.simplysurrealphotography.com/gallery/ . I use a Nikon D3100 and currently am saving up to buy a few lenses. For now, I am obsessed with HDR Photography till I can get some better flashes and be able to do good post-processing like some of the best photographers out there.

Gaming History
As I said above, I started in Unreal Tournament. But also at the age of 11, I actually started my own clan with my dad which we called "Eve of Terror". It was a very popular and successful clan through Unreal Tournament, Delta Force Blackhawk Down, Joint Operations, Battlefield 2, and we were a competition team in Call of Duty 4 where we went ~72 wins to 15 losses.

I started with the name "KiLLeR" (How unique) and then stole my Uncle's game name "General Patton" which I used for quite a while, then it was a mix between "KneeDragger" and "itBurnsWhenIPee". Personally, "KneeDragger" fits me better as it describes my hobby, however, Burns was a bit more of a humerus fun name so I stuck with it. (There is a story behind it, but, I won't get into it)

Side story - when I was young, all my uncles (Who also gamed with me and my dad) always would say to me at family gatherings, "You're the best there ever was, ever will be, forever and ever and then some". So yeah, that's where my stat addiction started I think. Blame them! :P

Why I Joined eGO
After being a leader of a clan for many years, I simply got tired of it. I am truly impressed with how well =eGO= keeps drama out because I dealt with it on a monthly basis, if not more. My clan, Eve of Terror disbanded and reassembled numerous times over the years and I just couldn't keep up with the demand, emotionally it was draining, and it was also draining the wallet.

I've seen =eGO= members in some servers, and I've always heard of =eGO= as a very large organization, so I was looking for somewhere that I can have a place to call "home" where I wasn't the overseer. This place has fit me well. When I was younger, I always appreciated clans/groups that allowed younger members in, so I easily accepted =eGO='s policy on such and knew this was the place for me.

Where Do I See Myself in 5 Years?
Well, if =eGO= is still around, which I don't see any reason why it wouldn't, I expect to still be here, and 4-5 years in on my military contract. I think I'll game till my reaction time slows so much that I can't kill anyone, so I suspect I'll be gaming still in full force, as well, on a personal level, I hope to finally find "the one" for me and start a family.

So yes, lengthy, and now you know about me. :)

About Me:
I'm a produce manager at a Super Center store.

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PwDOgCRQOCM[/ame]

As well as being a giant gamer I'm also a super Star Wars fan( Han shot first). I also read quite a bit. I've read almost every Star Wars book there is as well as a lot of other sci-fi and fastasy books.

My Gaming History:
I've been playing video games most of my life. Started with the NES and that Dos game where the gorillas threw the exploding bananas at each other, don't remember what that game was called.

My first MMO was Ultima Online which I played for around 5 years. After UO I was hooked on MMOs and have played a ton of them since. WoW, AoC, DDO, EVE, Aion, FFXI, FFXIV, Fallen Earth are just some of the MMOs I've played.

I played WoW for about 4 1/2 years with my brother and a couple other friends. We spent most of our time in WoW in a very hardcore competitive raiding guild. At one point the guild we were in was ranked 7th in the world on PvE progression. Eventually we just burned ourselves out on WoW though and we all quit.

I'm a pretty big fan of both Valve and Bioware and I've played just about every game they have each made.

Why I Joined eGO:
Ever since I first played in an eGO TF2 server a long time ago I have pretty much played exclusively on eGO servers. Was really happy to find a place that was tool, punk and hacker free. When I started playing BFBC2 I was pretty happy to see eGO had servers for that game also. During my time playing BFBC2 on eGO I've had several different people ask me to join. With BF3 coming out though I figured 'hey why not join?' and here I am.

Where Do I See Myself in 5 Years?
I'm a gamer for life so I'm sure I'll still be gaming. I've got a job I like also so hopefully I'll still be doing that or something similar.

About Me:

Working at one of the IT giants here in Toronto as a SCM Consultant, I try to find enough time for gaming. I work from home many times a week which saves me the commute to work, that time I then divert towards gaming. I am also very much into sports such as baseball or cricket. I was a national level cricketer but work now does not give me enough time to really focus on sports anymore. I love my job, get to travel a lot, meet a lot of new people and establish long term connections within the industry. I know the industry in and out so if anyone needs advise on careers or education please contact me. I have recently taken up Golf, and starting to get better at it. I love watching movies specially mysteries and reading mystery novels as well. I am not married but been with my current GF for over 2 years now and things are going really well there. I will also be starting my masters in Information systems soon as well, plan to end up as a Prof eventually.

My Gaming History:

Been gaming for a long time now, started off with the mario’s and price of Persia’s of the world and slowly got into PC gaming. I own and have owned almost all the major consoles but something about PC gaming keeps me away from them. I have almost always used the name KILLERCANKILL, it is something I picked up at a CS tournament where some dude after getting killed by me screamed “this killer can kill “ lol that name just got stuck in my head and will always remain my moto. I own a pretty hefty rig and constantly keep changing it to meet PC gaming requirements. I have been part of a few clans in the past where I played leadership roles as well but unfortunately those clans dint make it. My rule in gaming is respect, I never rage and don’t really swear personally as well, I try to carry that over to when im gaming as well.

Why I Joined eGO:
Started off playing on Heavy Metal where I saw how eGO runs its servers and how eGO members were really passionate about their clan. So thought of joining and giving my bit to the clan. I love the weekly events and specially love the award system which I think is a brilliant idea. Just the way everything is run in the clan and the amazing people who are part of it, keeps me glued to eGO, plan to stay here for a long long time and looking to contribute as much as I can.

Where Do I See Myself in 5 Years?
Professionally I am working towards becoming a full time SAP consultant. Plan on opening my own consultancy firm and retire early lol Get married for sure and go on yearly world tours, I have already been to loads of places but im sure there is still enough out there to keep me busy. In regards to gaming, plan to stay as a PC gamer and improve my skills. Hope to also move up the ladder in eGO and contribute in a bigger manner to the clan.

Started riding motorcycles when I was 3 years old,by the time I was 30, I had 100k on the street, and 250k on trails
My Gaming History:First real game was..wait for it...PONG, then my dad and I got into the Commodor 128, Sid Meir's F-15 strike Eagle, and many hours of us cursing....LOL. Now I am on a comp I built myself, playing all sorts of games

Why I Joined eGO: Well I had been in a clan before, and missed the community, eGO seemed to have the same ethics and values toward gaming, so I joined, told a friend and he joined as well.

Where Do I See Myself in 5 Years? Writing my autobiography, building an upgraded comp, and having fun with my granddaughter.

I really like this idea Itburns.

UPDATED FINALLY!!

My Basic Information:
Name: Henry
Age: 19
Location: Ann Arbor, MI

About Me:
I'm a sophomore at the University of Michigan contemplating majoring in Math or Chemistry with a possible minor in Classics. I recently started working at the M-Den which makes my ability to acquire Michigan clothing much easier (Yay employee discount). I'm also a team captain for a club at school called DoRAK (Do Random Acts of Kindness). We just run around campus and do nice things to people to make them smile or make their day that much better. I also really love the outdoors and the mountains, especially the Rockies in Colorado, and I plan to move out west when I graduate from college.

My Gaming History:
The majority of my gaming before I got my own console was at my babysitter's house. Her grandson lived right next door and I'd go over there and play games with him on his N64, Dreamcast, and PS2. Because of that I asked my parents for a Dreamcast for Christmas. Then of course Sega went under so about 2 years later I asked for a PS2. I was a console gamer on my PS2 with some RTS thrown in (AoE II: AoK=Best game ever) until my friends got me into WoW in 8th grade. After that I played WoW for about 5 years never very seriously but on and off going back to my PS2 when I was bored with WoW. Then in early January 2010 my friend convinced me to buy L4D2. This was my first foray into FPS on a computer. After that I preordered BC2 and joined HellsGamers (another large online gaming community). After about a month of BC2 being out HG stopped supporting BC2 so I bought CS:S and played around in CS:S until June when I went to camp. When I got back from camp I got back into WoW and left HG. I stopped playing games from September 2010-December 2010 when Slaz got me to join eGO and been playing BC2, CS:S, and TF2 ever since.

Why I Joined eGO:
Short story: I joined to get Slaz to shut up.
Long story: When I left HG in late August I was starting my Freshman year of college so I stopped playing video games but still always had steam open. During the next three months I would play when bothered by a friend but almost never on my own. Over that time Slaz kept bothering me to join eGO and every time I said no because I wasn't active at all. Finally Slaz told me Vietnam was coming out and I was interested enough that I decided to join eGO to have a home to play if/when I decided to. Next thing I know I'm playing all the time and still did well in school. Gaming became my procrastination instead of Facebook.

Where Do I See Myself in 5 Years?
Honestly I have no idea. I still don't even know what I want to major in and of my two options have no idea what I want to do with them. I have thought about maybe being a teacher, maybe going to grad school, or maybe doing something completely different. At this point I am playing it by ear and am living day by day. Hopefully I'll figure it out at some point. Only thing I know I really want to do is move to Colorado after I graduate.

Great idea!

My Basic Information:

Name: Tyler
Location: New Hampshire, USA
Age: 20

About Me: I'm a student at the University of New Hampshire, majoring in Psychology and a recently declared dual major with Justice (yay for an extra year of college!). I love RTS/FPS games and have a passion for history. I live on Wikipedia where I'm a volunteer admin with a focus on WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, New England, and gaming. When I'm not gaming, I'm likely playing a round of golf or reading a book.

My Gaming History: I first got into PC gaming with the original Delta Force games after my brother smuggled me a copy. I'd been playing console games for quite some time...but gave that up after realizing what computers could do besides just playing games. I continued to play all of the Delta Force games, things like SimCity/SimTower/SimCopter, the Sims, Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood (which you'll still see me play sometimes), and a few other assorted games. I stopped gaming for a bit before meeting a friend from the golf team who had a Steam account and played Half 2 and CS:S. He ended up giving me the login info and I played regularly for two years. I then got my own account in Early 2008, and lost all self control, bought far too many games, slacked off in school....and yeh...had an absolute blast meeting people online and playing games!!

Why I Joined eGO: Truth be told...I led a few communities myself over a period of three years, forayed into competitive playing in CAL and TWL, and then settled down in another large community. It wasn't a good fit for me, we had disagreements that got out of proportion, and I was banned. They were your typical online clan. One of my longtime online friends suggested eGO as being something different...where all the members don't troll and disrespect. I tried it out and found that it really fit my idea of a "community". I originally joined the CS:S division, but was inactive there and moved over the Bad Company 2 division a couple months later. I'd found my home.

Where Do I See Myself in 5 Years? I'd like to be doing something Law Enforcement related, whether it be a forensic psychologist, a criminalist, an investigator, or even a patrolman working my way up...it's something I'm passionate about. My parents have been pushing me to go into business for years (which I mistakenly attempted to do for the first two years of college) but I took some initiative and changed my major this past summer and now I'm really enjoying school. Of course I'd like to still be gaming regularly then, but who knows what might change over five years?

Name: You will forever know me as Panda... :)
Location: Dallas, Tx
Age: 24

About Me:
I'm what some would call a math nerd and others a math deviant. All my knowledge of math boils down to a single point of interest, efficiency. IF something is inefficient, I fix it, if I can't fix it then I want nothing to do with it. Outside of this fact, I'm also an OCD perfectionist, which plays into what I do for a living. I design things in AutoCAD for people as requested and that's about it. If I'm not working, I'm either playing games or doing school work. My only word of advice to people trying to get their life in order is to remember everyone because you never know who you'll be working for and to always think outside the box when approaching problems that don't look solvable.

My Gaming History:
I think a list of systems I own will do fine here. NES, SNES, GB, GBC, GBA, DS, DSi, DSxl, PSP, N64, Dreamcast, PSx, PS2, Gamecube, Xbox, Xbox 360, PS2, PS3, Wii.
My PC gets an upgrade to the most efficient components every 2-3 years depending on technology growth. The last upgrade was a year ago and I spent around $8,000 on it, however, multiple components were bought through where I work for about 10% off and I think tigerdirect.com had some pretty badass deals at the time as well. You can figure out exactly what I have if you want, but I won't be posting it here.

Why I Joined eGO:
Because I used to be in eGO a long time ago under a different soldier name, then they (BC2 division) were telling me to re-join as Panda. So I did. The person who recruited me was crzytrain and angeleyes from COD4 originally on my old soldier name. Slaz and Shorty are probably responsible for Panda's joining.

Where Do I See Myself in 5 Years?
Somewhere other than where I'm at now, probably owning my own business and/or continuing to do what I do now. I make enough doing this and I enjoy it so why stop? :D

My Basic Information:
Name: Tiomat or Septu.
Location: Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada
Age: 29

About Me:
I'm the technician for the cellular network that spans the north (Yukon to Iqaluit on Baffin Island) - well there's 2 of us. In the summers I golf, kayak, shoot, or take my jeep out wheeling and up as many mountains as possible. I love the summers up here... being able to tee off at 9pm really stretches the days out. The winters kinda such, but I love my job, I have lots of family up here, and the summers make up for it... so it all works out. I'm a hockey fanatic. The Pittsburgh Penguins are my team, however I'll cheer for the Oilers/Jets/Leafs as well (as long as they're not playing the Pens). I've been working on getting back into shape for a while now. My goal is to be around 190. I'm 225 now, and was 260lbs at Christmas.

My Gaming History:
I started off with Duke Nukem and some other cheesy games in the early 90s. However it wasn't until I got into CS (summer of 2000) that I started to get into computers and gaming. And I've been hooked ever since. Have mainly played FPS (L4D 1 & 2) and CS. Just recently got CS:S and while I've had BC2 for a while, it wasn't until I joined eGO that I started playing it.

Why I Joined eGO:

I'd been in several CS clans over the years, as well as leading a couple. Leading a clan is a ton of work, time and money. And there's usually lots of BS. However since leaving my last clan when I really got into L4D, I realized that it was something I'd missed - the being part of the online/gaming community. When I started with CS:S eGO was one of the first servers that I spent any time on. I checked out the site and liked what I saw. Made a donation as I enjoyed the server. Joined eGO (CS:S), but switched over to BF within a month or so.

Where Do I See Myself in 5 Years?
I don't see a lot changing in 5 years. I plan on still being with the same company, doing the same thing, living in Whitehorse. At some point I'd like to get married and have a family, but I'm in no rush.

My Basic Information:
Name- Jon
Location- Houston, TX
Age- 22, 23 next month the day after the release of Battlefield 3

About Me:
I'm in my sophomore year in college at University of Houston. I plan to enroll in the Pharmacy Program there, but if that doesn't go through, I will be applying to Texas Southern University Pharmacy Program. On my spare time, I play video games, study, paintball, and hang with the family. I currently am employed at Starbucks.

My Gaming History:
My gaming experience goes way back when the first N64 was released. Later on I moved onto PC and my first games ever were Aliens vs Predator 2, Red Faction, and Ghost Recon. I branched out towards MMORPGs in my junior year of high school.

Why I Joined eGO:
I joined eGO due to the warm welcoming environment you guys place forth on the BC2 Servers.

Where Do I See Myself in 5 Years?
I see myself graduating pharmacy school, living a nice settled down life, continue playing games and using paintball as an excuse to exercise.

Name: Pete
Age: 32
Location: Indianapolis

About Me:
I'm a sushi chef and also work at a deli/catering company. I've been cooking for fun my whole life, and professionally for about 12 years all over the country. I've also lived in Malawi, Africa managing a transport company workshop. Other than gaming and cooking, I read voraciously on many subjects, like to go canoeing and camping in the Boundary Waters in Minnesota (where I also worked as an outfitter,) and enjoy sampling the many fine beers crafted in Indiana and the Midwest with friends.

My Gaming History:
I started gaming as a wee lad on the Commodore 64 - one of my fondest gaming memories is loading up the Bruce Lee game on cassette tape in the morning before school, and coming home to have it ALMOST ready to play. Since then I've played on just about every console (Coleco, Atari, NES, Sega Master System and Genesis, etc.) as well as most evolutions of PCs. I also did quite a bit of tabletop RPG playing through middle and high school. These days I play almost exclusively on PC, with my PS3 gathering dust and only used occasionally for netflix and blu-rays. Over the years I've mostly played RPG, RTS, and adventure games and was never really too interested in MMO, FPS, or really any multiplayer games until I got hooked on BC2.

Why I Joined eGO:
I found eGO servers playing BC2 and really enjoyed the well-mannered and well-admined atmosphere. I've never been involved with a clan in the past, but thought it would be a fun way to get involved and meet some fellow gamers.

Where Do I See Myself in 5 Years?
Hopefully I'll be married to my girlfriend of two years, and we would like to be living on her family farm near Lexington, Kentucky raising livestock and produce, opening a restaurant, B&B, brewery, or some combination of those with some other chef/farmer friends.

About Me:
I recently just graduated from highschool so im just getting into the real world haha xD, but i do plan to go to college and get into an engineering position, somewhere along the electrical field and stay into a company of that field. Ive worked in many small jobs like a typical highschool student, i did get to go to the National Gaurd for a summer program and work on Diesel Vehicles from the base, and get some Diesel Mechanic work. But now im in a local town chinese restaurant, which is the best here tho haha. On my spare time im usually playing games, specially in bc2. During the spring to end of summer i race Motocross and am currently in 125/250F Junior class big bikes, i love to race and do it as much as i can on weekends, and ill camp and trail ride with the family as well. For those into that i ride the CRF250R. Honda :)

My Gaming History:
I played alot of the older stuff of course in mid to late 90s, duke nukem, alien vs predators etc. I always enjoyed the first person shooters and is my all time favorite genre.

Why I Joined eGO:
A main reason i joined eGO was because i really enjoyed the welcoming environment and how dedicated this community is, i enjoy being in vent chatting to buddies while playing bc2 etc. The servers are always fun and kept that way. And its always fun meeting new people all around the world and geting to know them and enjoy games with them.

Where Do I See Myself in 5 Years?
Well for 5 years for me alot can happen, and im just staying on the path im on now, planning to get into college and get to the career im hoping to find i love and eventually of course later be with a love in my life, and enjoy what i can do for my life and race motocross still and live life!

My Basic Information:
Name: David
Age: 17 (18 soon)
Location: Nebraska
(No I do not live on a farm, and no I do not drive a tractor, nor do I have bad dental hygiene or an overabundance of flannel)

About Me:
I'm in my senior year of high school, trying to finish without falling to senioritis. I swim for my school and trapshoot. I plan on attending University of Nebraska at Omaha next fall as a Computer Science Major with a concentration in video games.

My Gaming History:
Honestly, my brother and mom were the reason I got into gaming lol. We started off with an SNES. My mom loved playing the Donkey Kong Country games with us (well mainly my brother since I was too young to really play). I used to watch my brother play all the time, though. Christmas 1999 (or 2000, can't remember =P) we got an N64 and this was when I truely started playing. While I still usually watched my brother play, I'd get on (started with Star Fox 64, Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and Super Smash Bros.) and try my best. My brother used to be so amazing at SSB and he tried to teach me how to play. However, around 2001 was when I started PC gaming. I don't remember what games I started on, but I know my first true FPS was Battlefield 1942 (I've played every BF game since then (except 1943)). Since then, I've broadened my spectrum to RPG's, RTS's, and MMO's (RTS's being my second favorite, to FPS's of course =)).

Why I Joined eGO:
I started to get really bored playing by myself as a pub. I just kinda floated from server to server trying to find a place that I liked that I could come back to. Also, my friends that I used to play BF with kinda stopped playing as much. I played on an eGO server once with my first soldier, Dbeaves, but when I made Randy, he became my favorite soldier (he was originally supposed to be a crap-stat soldier for my friends to play on, but I started playing him to unlock everything and ended up being my main). So, I joined the Normal Mixed server about a month and a half ago (mostly because it had a low ping) and loved the way Krod Mandoon handled a disruptive pub. After that, I asked him how to join, and here I am =).

Where Do I See Myself in 5 Years?
Hopefully graduated/graduating from college with a CS degree. Other than that, the only thing I know that will be a constant in my life is the fact that I will always be playing video games =).

About Me: Five things: I'm dedicated to what I do, I like to kid around, I like CoD [4] too (don't hate), I love computrar games, and never give me Mountain Dew. To elaborate: I'm a long-time eGO supporter, even during my hardships with certain members. I was previously banned from the servers, and let me tell you, it wasn't a fun experience at all. Second, I'm a jokester. They aren't always good, funny, or appropriate, but I absolutely LOVE to mess with my friends. If I've offended you (and on some occasions I've gone just a little too far), please forgive me. My infatuation with shooters such as BF or CoD actually started with CoD:WaW, so you can either 1) learn to agree, 2) agree to disagree, or 3) curse the game for my presence. :P Since a young age I've been exposed to computers, and I enjoy finding out more about them and being the "nerd" of my class. Last of all, I warn you, do NOT feed me Mountain Dew. The results vary, and can be mixed; usually, however, you end up with an extremely happy, hyper PBJ that has some crazy reflexes in video games. If you do give me some, watch out! :P

My Gaming History:

Early Years (- 2007)

In early 2006, I played Club Penguin with a number a friends, but I’m really going to shirk that since it was extremely juvenile and you really did NOTHING. Then, in 2007, I became an extremely avid gamer (wasting HOURS each day). Back in late August of that year, a classmate discovered something that completely changed my life – FOREVER. That “thing” was RuneScape…again, still a little juvenile, but its improving. For days and nights, I sat by my faithful desktop, leveling “Festery” (as was my handle at the time), and chatting with my classmates.

Community Development (2008 - 2009)

Eventually, in mid-2008, I got bored of being in the small group at school. That’s when I first expanded, and joined a number of communities dedicated to RuneScape. Of course, one thing led to another, and I expanded to joining a full-fledged clan dedicated to leveling up each skill (different ones on a monthly basis). Nova Skillers Clan (hereinafter referred to as NSC) was much like MiT is now – a small player base, close ties within, and a great community dedicated to everyone’s success. Of course, there were also differences – the leadership also had a council to advise them, and also some just barely lower-ranked advisors. I was an active member, and soon became interested in moderating a forum. Since there were no player-owned servers, that’s how adminning worked: along with assistants, you got to head a forum. With this goal in mind, I contacted one of the leaders, who prompted me with a form to fill out and ask which forum I’d like to moderate. When I received the PM, I filled out the form as fast as I possibly could, and asked to be assigned wherever help was needed. With my first great achievement (as I’ve come to call it) in my sight, I hit “send” with a great burst of excitement. Now, let’s skip ahead into early 2009. Everything had seemed dandy, no big changes had occurred to cause tumult, but a number of us members were noticing that the forums were slowing. With a slight note of concern, we contacted the two head leadership members…only to find out that, with deep sadness, they themselves were planning on resigning because of the general disinterest and the fact that their real lives were picking up. Though I myself was shocked, nothing was going to stand in my way of keeping this community around. I immediately tried starting a revival, but soon it was clear that wasn’t going to work without more interest. Again, I felt tears welling as NSC was about to fall apart. In desperation, I created what came to be known as Atlas’s Retribution (originally The Fearless Knights, abbreviated AR from now on). A number of my old NSC friends hopped on as honorary members, at the least. Two of my real life friends, Ben and Gavin, stood in to help me lead this reincarnation of NSC. Eventually, with permission, we were given the code from the NSC site to make this clan even better – the format of my other site, at the time known as Cloud Nine (now Base 13, included in my signature), just wasn’t working; to be honest, it WAS pretty ugly. Two or three high council members of NSC came over to become our advisors, and it was going great for a time. Then, website URLs were banned in-game and on the RuneScape forums, because of sites selling in-game items for money. This destroyed ALL hopes of recruiting, and we just had to advertise and hope to get lucky with people wanting to join a fresh, hip clan. As time passed, Ben lapsed away, and it just became Gavin and I, with our advisors at our sides. By now, we hadn’t gotten many new members – it was just like NSC…the clan was dying. We freshened it with the new name (AR) and made a few modifications. Again, for a while it went great; we merged with a few other smaller clans that had fallen victim to leadership resignations and needed somewhere to take them in. Then, over time, I started losing interest. I rarely got a level anymore, and the quests were becoming long and drawn out. I tried joining another clan and asking for us members of AR to get rank there, like we had previously merged, but no one went for it…eventually the dissension and leadership troubles of this clan led me to return to AR full-time. However, with some friends of mine [Kevin (nonme; registered member of MiT) and Trace (ducks108) – both met on Zybez Ventrilo] I started another clan on the side (Divine Minions) that was set to merge with AR in the future. This is where it got really messy – my real life was busting with activities, and I was losing time and interest in RuneScape. To be honest, I just quit. I disappeared. No one knew where I was that summer, though I occasionally talked to Trace or Kevin in Skype about the progress of DM. Over time, the project died without me…I had been the leader and the one driving the others to strive for their best, but without a leader – well, we know what happens. Gavin tried keeping AR alive into 2010, and DM just died and Trace took down the site. Meanwhile, I talked to Kevin ALL the time, and one day he encouraged me to get Steam to try out AudioSurf. Back a while, my dad had made me an account and given me his extra HL2 copy when he got the Orange Box. When I mentioned AudioSurf and Steam to him, we got back onto that account and I got HOOKED on Half Life. I asked for the Orange Box for Christmas 2009, and indeed got it. However, this time I registered it to my new account, so I'd have central account for everything.

eGO and Other Communities

Then, as in RuneScape, I got lonely in the random servers I always joined in TF2…so Kevin introduced me to eGO on February 28, 2010. At first, I was shell-shocked by the size of the community. Then, I got my bearings, but as is typical with me, got my computer taken away. When I returned from my Mexico vacation, I got it back and started playing Counter Strike: Source. That game was one that I REALLY enjoyed, and I played for hours every day. That led to a quick eG when back-to-school promotions went on. The short version of the story is, I made a mistake a got perma banned for it. I went on the another community, where I clashed with a member of leadership, which led to my returning here. I'm back with renewed love for this group, and this time I'm not budging, even if you have to force me out. <3

Why I Joined eGO: I joined eGO to find like-minded gamers. A friend of mine (details above) recommended me, and I signed up for TF2. Soon, I bought CS:S, and switched divisions. Despite my young age, I found I fit in well for the most part and got along with many other people. In addition, it was nice to have a community who didn't care about your age, sex, race, or other criteria. Here, its about having fun, which is what games are meant to be. I enjoy that.

Where Do I See Myself in 5 Years? In 5 years I hope to be off to one of the more renowned US colleges, preferably one in the Northeast. I have family that traces back to PA, and I'd like to experience the difference in life there. In addition, if I continue my school career as I have always led it, I do have a chance to achieve those goals. I'd like to believe I'm a hard worker, inspirational writer, and excellent mathematician when I want to be. In the gaming world, I hope to continue my eGO membership for many years to come, exceeding even 5.

My Basic Information: I'm 39, I guess that makes me an old man around here. I have a very small IT firm I work for. I have 2 kids a 2 year old and a 3 month old baby girl.

About Me: I have been playing about every console since the Atari 2600, and some time in the early 90's moved into PC gaming. I play on the servers when I have enough time to be awake, and the wife will let me get away with it.

My Gaming History: I have been playing about every console since the Atari 2600, and some time in the early 90's moved into PC gaming. I competed in 1990 in the Nintendo World Championships, my brother ended up winning the whole thing. He worked for several different video game companies back in the day. He has a documentary coming out, so I have gotten to tag along on alot of that fun/mess. I have played all the BF series, I think I have enjoyed 1942 and BF2 Bad company the most. I built out a new system just for BF3.

Why I Joined eGO: I found myself playing on the Heavy Metal map almost exclusively and my favorite server was eGO's, they seemed to be a pretty respectable and decent bunch. So I signed up for duty!

Where Do I See Myself in 5 Years? Playing BF4 or 5 or whatever is out then.

My Basic Information:

Name: Matthew (Matt)
Age: 32
Location: Northern Cali (actually northern cali not SF)

About Me:

I am an IT Coordinator for a fairly large non-profit here in my town. I have been working there for about 6 years. I like tech/geeky things as well as the outdoors. Hunting/Fishing and so forth. Though I only usually go hunting to help out friends as a guide of sorts, since I am a pesco-vegan meaning I don't eat any land dwelling animal products any longer. Not for political reasons or anything (as I said I still help people hunt) but rather for health reasons. I have lost 60 lbs in the last 4 months on this diet and intend on losing 30 or so more. My father has MS (multiple sclerosis) and there is a good amount of evidence that it is linked to diet. Especially meat and dairy, and I want to reduce my risk of that even though it is not considered a genetic disease but my thinking is that if I continue eating the same way he did his whole life I was opening myself up for issues like MS and especially cancer. And also I feel and look better:) Anyway, I digress on that. I also like shooting and watching many kinds of sports though I am not a huge baseball fan. Even though I played it in high-school.

My Gaming History:

Me and gaming go way back. Like Commodore 64 and Atari way back. Got my first computer way back when I had the best computer in my neighborhood if not the town. It was a blazing 386DX 40 with *gasp* 4mb of RAM and a 1 mb video card. It even had one of those new fangled CD-ROM drives and an amazing viewsonic SVGA monitor. It was pimp. Have owned at one time or another every console you can think of. My favorite still is the dreamcast. What a sad waste of an amazing product.

Why I Joined eGO:

Brinkmen got me into it after playing with him. Originally joined the DoD division. Since I was a 2nd Lt. and leader of training staff in one of the largest realism units previously (5th RB later the 75thRR). But looked around and saw how active eGO was and withdrew my re-activation in the 75th (which was on a downward activity trend since myself and a large number of c-staff left with 3-4 months of each other unfortunately.) and I was playing DoD less and less. In favor of BC2 and looking forward to BF3 of course :)

Where Do I See Myself in 5 Years?

Hmm, I like where I am for the most part in my life. Probably just a few changes but similar to what I am doing now. Should have my MCITP certification by then and will either be working at my current job with more money or working somewhere else doing basically the same thing I am now.

About Stranger

Name:Michael

Age:20

Location: Bozeman, MT.

Games: BF3 beta, BF:BC2, COD: BO

About Me: I'm currently enrolled at Montana State in Bozeman. I'm a computer science software engineer major. I love almost all outdoor sports especially paintball almost as much as I love games on the computer.

My Gaming History: I started gaming when I was 10 years old when my family had a exchange student from Russia who was on the Russian national Counter-Strike team and he taught me how to play on CS 1.3. Since then I've played CS:CZ, CS:S, Quake 3, Unreal Tournament, TF2, COD:MW, COD:MW2, COD:WaW, COD: BO, BF:BC2, BF3, DoD, DoD:S, L4D, and L4D2. On the non fps side I've also played Runescape, Aion, WoW, DotA, LoL, Starcraft, most of the AoE series, and many other small name games. I've played competitively in a lot of fps because I always try to be better in everything I do, but never at the expense of not being able to have fun. I've also played on many other systems than just PC, I've been playing on consoles since the Sega Dreamcast, and almost every single console that has been released since then, but over time I've just played them less and less because I enjoy playing fps the most and it's so much funner with a mouse and a keyboard than a controller.

Why I Joined eGO: I've played on the eGO BF:BC2 server's for 7+ months now and have been reading the forums and voting on polls till earlier this week Slazenger caught me snooping on a BF3 poll and asked me to join. I've been in quite a few teams / clans / communities and I've been watching eGo for awhile now and from what I've seen they run great servers and a great community, and it's something that I wanted to be a part of.

Where Do I See Myself in 5 Years?: Hopefully in 5 years I will have finished my schooling and be able to get a job using my degree because I love software engineering. Preferably software engineering for games, but I'll take what I can get coming out of college.

My Basic Information:

Name: Ed
Age: 41
Location: Dallas, TX

About me:

Gamer, geek, IT guy, father of two, camper, recreational shooter

Gaming history:

Zork, in 1988, on my high school's IBM PC XT was the start of it all. Then there were MUDs, Wolfenstein, DOOM, Everquest, DAoC, EQ2, EVE, Vanguard, CS:S, BF2... Soooo many more. I like turn-based better than RTS, and swords-and-sorcery better than space. I'm a sucker for PvP.

Why I joined eGO:

About three years or so ago, I was looking for a well-admined CS:S server and came across eGO's dust2. One thing led to another and pretty soon I was one of the most common eGOs to find on dust2. Not long after BF:BC2 came out, I switched games, and shortly after, switched divisions. I can usually be found on Heavy Metal.

In 5 years?:

As I've gotten older, I've come to the conclusion that more than a year out is nearly impossible to predict.
