Temporary FPS Drop in DOD

Sup oh wise hardware gurus......My box:

Pent. Duel core 2.7 mhz
4 gig DDR2 Ram
Nvidia 9500 gt
Windows7 32 Bit
About a TB of Hard Drive Space available


When running DOD, about every 5 minutes I drop from 75 FPS to 8. This drop lasts for about one minute and goes away on it's own. I thought it happened only when I was viewing multiple smokes, but it is really just random.

I have no idea what the temps are. I've updated all of my drivers.

I have laid off of Steam games for about a year, and as soon as I started playing again, this occurred. The only change since then (which was working fine) is migrated from Windows vista to 7 and updated drivers. I don't remember if I ran DOD last year with 7, but I think I did and it worked fine. Any ideas? Oh and by the way, thanks in advance.
 
There are a lot of reason's of why this is happening, but to begin with, I'd suggest that you try running the game with max low graphic settings - turn off bloom effect, no reflections...etc and then see if you still get the same problem and let us know.
 
I did that.....to no avail. I have managed to bump my frame rate to 125 without any real eye-candy denegration, but the 60 second, every 5 minute FPS drop to single digits still occurs.

I'm thinking about getting a new video card.
