This will work for MOST people, there seems to be a hole in the programming where your gfx card is still rendering the aero interface even when full screen.

Assuming you have either Vista or Windows 7. Find the folder Battlefield 3 is installed in (Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 3 Open Beta). Right click properties for bf3.exe. Under Compatibility tab, tick "Disable Desktop Composition" and apply. This will disable aero when BF3 is running and revert when the program closes.

I'd like to see that performance guide when you get done with it diamonds. I have a pretty monster machine, but I'm always curious in other ways to gain frames if it doesn't effect the overall visual experience. I know anything past 60 fps is, in a way, useless because of our inability to conceptualize stills at a higher frame rate since we as humans ALSO incorporate images as "snapshots". It's like waving a pen in front of you and seeing only a blurry, fading object.
