Doubt it'll ever get a huge following, but it'd be fun to make a Steam group out of this at least. I'm definitely getting this. Here's a little mini-summary thing.

Is anyone else going to be picking this up? It looks like a ton of fun. Think Left 4 Dead meets heist movie.

- 4 player co-op
- Every play is different, using a mechanic similar to L4D's Director AI
- Lots of tasks like capturing and watching over hostages, breaking through security systems, etc
- Fight off increasingly difficult enemies from security guards to SWAT that use multiple entry points to come at you; doors, ventilation ducts, skylights and more
- Character progression that unlocks new traits, weapons and traps
- Trade hostages for players that have been captured by the fuzz
- All for the low price of $20 or less if you pre-order or find coupon codes from non-Steam distributors.

I'm definitely getting this. Looks like the kind of co-op shooter I love. Tactical, people have jobs to do and have to help each other out.

Anyway, the official site is http://www.overkillsoftware.com/payday/

I know Matt and I are actually interested in this game. Too bad you can't be on the Police side for 4v4

in the video didnt it say there were only 6 maps, but it had infinite replayability?

now what they need to do is make randomly generated maps so that it really does infinite replayability

Infinite replayability because the spawns are set up to be different all the time. I believe they do what L4D does.

The game looks like it has potential, but I'm not sure if I want to risk dropping $20 on it.

Pony up you cheapos. This game looks like a ton of fun. When Stormy and his crew do a job, we don't leave anyone alive.

People line up in droves to shell out $50 on L4D 1 and 2, which didn't have half the features this game has. I got bored of L4D so fast because every game it was just a race to the finish line with one of 6 possible interruptions along the way when a Special tackled somebody.

At least this encourages teamwork, has a levelling system, involves more than running and shooting, gives a variety of objectives, etc.

stormy gift it to me and ill help you slaughter innocent civvys

Sorry buddy, my crew is full.

I've got Sumac to handle the hostages and disarm any alarm systems, Dr. Compton as our medic/hostage killer and Megs a Tagger to break into the vaults and negotiate with the fuzz. I'm the team leader who makes poor choices that result in massive amounts of hostage killing and other forms of violence.

It's been postponed until "later in October" in order to fix some lingering bugs and shore up their server performance for launch.

While it's disappointing, I'm glad they have the balls to step up and do a proper launch instead of meeting their deadline.

looks good, but I'll wait till it releases so I can get a public opinion of it (I need to start doing that more as I have so many games on back-log that people recommended to me)

I'll post a review after I get some decent playtime in. I'm usually fairly unbiased, though some people think I'm overly soft on some games. Like I should be harsher about a game's flaws. But I'm just an optimistic guy, I guess ;)
