Someone in another thread pointed out something that has made me reconsider; the people I tend to MMO with jump ship as soon as the next big MMO comes out. I've tried to follow them from one game to the next. The first couple months with them are fun, then they'd stop logging on so much until gradually I ended up the only person left online in a defunct guild.
I think that's something I miss from my old days in Everquest, was belonging to a solid guild that I knew was going to exist even when the "next big thing" comes out.
So I think I'm going to join the eGO Guild and just /friend my friends. I'll see if any are interested in coming along with me, though I can't make any promises.
What will likely end up happening is that I'll get them interested in eGO when their guild starts to crumble. That way we get the people that are more interested in the game in the long term. Plus I don't want to break any friendships by actively recruiting from another guild. That's a practice that is heavily frowned on within our little circle, a philosophy that comes from my Everquest days when reputation mattered ;P

But I know how it feels to be left behind and am all about making sure the game stays fun for people.
