Anyway, I'll just say again that I might check this animated Star Trek thing sometime in the future. It's probably better that I watch an actual Star Trek show first though.

Of course it's true. The show has a wide audience appeal...as stated previously stated with the 12 year old girls and stoners comment.

I'm merely speaking from personal experience with fans of the show. I have found that there is tendency for fans of the show to also be fans of cannabis consumption. Of course that doesn't speak to all fans of the show, simply the portion that I've come across.

but yes, That is a stupidly huge generalization, and Sexy Beast is obviously just ignorant about the demographic of people who like Ponies.

Honestly, it is more of an internet/nerd thing. The fact that marijuana use is so widespread just makes it a coincidence.

Even then, the show didn't originally cater to the large older crowd. It is much more obviously doing so now in the second season since they decided not to follow E/I rules, but the first ten or so episodes were produced before the entire internet subculture started, and some of those are my favorite episodes, even though they only catered to young girls. I think you are really oversimplifying the fandom.

Regardless, I've seen more fan art of ponies brutally murdering each other than I have using drugs. I'm sure a large portion of fans may use it, but it isn't like you have to be high to enjoy the show, and it definitely isn't the reason for the large fan base.

Gonna have to quote you again because, now that we're on the subject, I don't appear to fall into either of these categories. 14 year old guys appear to not be listed here in the slightest.
