The battle is heating up,
Gun fire hitting the brick walls.
Watching friends or foe fall,
Everything is just a mess.
Tucking my gun under me,
Slowly trying to crawl free.
A man stops in font,
I shot him without thinking.
Seeing the blood splat across his eyes,
Slowly my mind kept this image in tie.
I'm running to the front,
Hope to God I don't get hit.
Taking the flag that once stood,
Slowly burnt it to the ground.
This isn't the end you see,
The war has just began for me.
I see bodies turn to shreds,
and families flash beyond my eyes.
Men wounded or dead on beds,
Watching shells fly so high.
The war has just begun,
Not just a war, a battle.
I have to fight to win, flee must I go,
Or kill and sin,
Watching the blood seep into the snow.
I may die before tonight,
My last letter I might write.
Tell mom and dad, don't be sad,
I'll be glad when this is over and said.
An old poem of mine.
