For those who didnt believe

Yeah, EA/DICE has a thread going asking for people to post up user profiles of hackers. I looked through it briefly, and most people supported their claims with screenshots, so, hopefully there will be a lot of bans right off the bat.
 
Hopefully it means the hacks will be fixed. I could care less if they're banned, but if they fix the loopholes the hacks used: problem solved.

Well sadly that will never happen in the history of anything computer-related. There will always be someone who can manipulate coding. Consider that the Government has people fighting against cyber terrorism, so if hackers can get into the Government and high priority areas .. hacking in a game is like amateur.

As long as they combat it enough to help us keep hackers out, then I am good with that, because a game without hackers is not but a wonderful dream.
 
I joined a room with that same guy. He was killing everyone with the MAV as soon as they'd spawn and if you spawned in a jet you're view would be block for a few seconds, you'd get kicked out of it, and then killed by the MAV...
 
so if there are hackers, there would be no point in putting the server browser in the internet browser.
 
if i know that person is hacking i look at their K/D Ratio. last i look on battlelog was jermeyexe his KD was 47.1 so i know he was hacking i dont pay attention on the score as much lol
 
Punkbuster should also help. It may not be a means to stop them all, but it will help. It wasn't even active during Beta.

There are no Hackers in games, only cheaters. Hacking requires alot of work from very intelligent people. Cheating in a game requires you run a program that manipulates the data on the client side AKA your machine to do things like render the GFX or hit boxes differently. But yes they should all be taken and thrown in the slammer IRL for it!
 
That's how I classify them too Pensive. Very few of the cheaters out there are actually bright enough to be hackers. There are some that can actually hack the program and files in order to cheat however but most just buy(sucker) then modify the cheat.

Still irks me that people use them synonymously.
 
I remember at the beginning of the beta people would accuse others of cheating and get the response "really? already? the beta just started" and now its "yea its pretty obvious they're cheating". I actually played against one and he just swept my entire team, he could just go around a corner, know where you are and insta-headshot you. So glad they're already taking care of it.

You're right; now that EA has informed players of legitimate cheaters in the game, people are more cautious than the start of beta. At first, I saw maybe one person say he saw hacks--now it's like 20 people since yesterday. What sucks though, is someone will be having a bad game day, get killed by a weird coincidence, and then judge that player for hacking/cheating. Those are the people who create false-positives.
 
One thing I loved about BF2, if your server streamed PB, the cheater was doomed, we caught many on the 40dds server, and I would just laugh,because after being caught no server that streamed PB would allow that person on, had to make for some difficult game play.

Well sure, they are cheaters, the actual users are not the hackers. However, these cheaters are using hacks created. Cheaters are usually idiots, ranging from pre-teens all the way to the oldest gamers you would ever meet. Why they want to cheat is beyond me - I'd think it would just make the game boring to know you're going to win .. but I guess cheaters are just people who want to feel good about themselves, or whatever the case may be. :confused1:

And these sites that sell Cheats/Hacks will usually hire coders that have no relation to online games to hack the game codes to create these cheats and keep up on them from being detected.

Yes, its on-going, but EA can slow the people creating the hacks and eliminate the cheaters for the time being by fixing loopholes in the code allowing the hacks to pull through. Obviously they can't fix wallhacks that modify game files locally, or else people who install patches "the old way" wouldn't be able to play either. Anyhow, out with the cheaters. Out with the cheats. Let's just have fun! :)
 
In the beginning there were games.... by the 7th day we had cheaters and hackers.
 
agreed that the hackers are easily spotable if you check out their kill cam it usually can catch them in the act on position and movement, but im guesing most of those calls on being a hacker was because you blind fired through rocks huh, haha
