For those who want to save some money, Amazon is offering a very low deal on an unreleased game (this is a PC download--or rather an origin code that is sent via email). They know how to attract people, that's for sure.

Sweet! I was already getting it there. Might as well. So just gives you Origin code?
 
I don't think you get the "Physical Warfare Pack" pre-ordering through Amazon, but you do get their "Dog Tag Pack".
 
Honestly, you practically get all the weapons and upgrades from physical warfare in future ranks . It's better to save the money and just earn those rewards by dedication; I'm canceling my pre-order with origin right now.

Both pre-orders also include the expansion pack and is still considered limited edition.

Another question: will my gift card still be valid? Is this forever, or should I hurry? heh.
 
I paid $47.69 on Origin so I'll just keep it there. I don't see why your gift card wouldn't be valid since Amazon is handling the payment.
 
Last time I pre-ordered a game on Amazon it was a disaster. Just before the game was released they charged my credit card. A couple days later (a day after the game came out) they sent me an email basically saying 'sorry we sold to many copies of the game and aren't going to send you yours because we don't have enough'. On top of that they did not refund my credit card. I had to call them and it took a month to get my money back.

That was the first time and last time I bought anything from Amazon. Only reason I did that time was because of the special deal they were having on it.

Thankfully with this they'll just send an Origin key which is guaranteed to be in stock.
 
I've ordered and pre-ordered crap tons of things from Amazon, including sleeping bags, books, audio CD's, video games, kitchen timers, you name it.

I've never had a problem except when the Postal Service lost a package in the mail. Amazon just 1 day UPSed another package with the same items for free, and I got it the next day.

I would say they handle things quite well over there.

I agree with Sushi, Abstract. I've ordered plenty of items on Amazon that went well--you just had a terrible coincidence, I must say. I would just give them another chance, mate.

Just tried. Unfortunately, the Amazon "Payments" system doesn't allow gift cards, and it is what is used on all the PC Download/Keys. Ah well...

that is dumb as hell..... can't use a their gift card to buy a product they are selling.

I know! Essentially, you get what Amazon customers get for pre-orders, but you're buying from EA. It was the same with the Humble Bundle and BC2 Vietnam. :sleep:

You have to go to the Place Order screen and look for the "Gift Cards and Promotional Codes" spot and type in your Gift Card number. I just used one late last month.

Well all cards that have been purchased are activated. Are you saying what if you used one in a different purchase? If that's the case, then it is okay--as long as there is money currently on the card still.
