Not mad. Just disappointed.
Although, this is my reaction:

Thankfully, Derpy has only been unnamed, revoiced (to what is frankly a vastly inferior voice), and even PARTIALLY UNDERPED in the iTunes version of the episode. So Derpy technically still does exist. We'll just have to see how all this plays out.

They made her pretty much worthless to the community now.
 
I actually like the new voice quite a bit more. She actually sounds like a female now instead of a male.

Removing the name and underping her eyes though?

But still, it isn't like they are removing her from the show, and her eyes are still derped most of the time. Her not having the fanon name doesn't make her worthless to the community. It actually makes sense, with the popularity of a term like derp on the internet even before the show, it is highly probable that it has been trademarked.

What I am most worried about is the effect on the community and the relationship we have with Hasbro. They just revealed toys more done for the older demographics, it took a while for them to see us as a legitimate audience. Don't want any of that undone.

I thought we've already established that Gawker doesn't deserve to exist and that we shouldn't give them more hits by linking to them here.
 
Remember when they had the article written by a girl going on a date with a good looking, successful, nice man then she found out he was a Magic the Gathering pro player and hated him because of it? They just post material to rile up geeks for hits.

So...it's still just the fault of the people who take "derp" more offensively than it should be.
Understandable to an extent. I mean, these people were quite in the minority. (I quote: "...while I got 10 negative emails, I also got about 200 positive ones!" That is 4.76%; I think they could have dealt with ~4.76% of the fans being upset over only a half-real reason)
Kind of annoyed that they didn't give us the whole story until now.

REALLY dumb how they changed it to Derpy because the fans liked it and then changed it back because the fans didn't like it. Irony at its worst. Of course, you know, we kind of all knew this was what happened, minus the scene not actually being written originally with the fans in mind.

Aside: would have liked to have seen the originally intended scene.



BUT we can still act as though none of this ever happened. The original version of the episode still exists, and Derpy's name is ambiguous in the new version, meaning she will always be Derpy.
No idea why they underped her eyes, though...she's had derped eyes since episode one and will have derped eyes in the future as well.

Pinkie Pie is still best pony.
 
IN THIS EPISODE
Fluttershy learns to harness her superpowers
Pinkie uses awesome psychological loopholes, learned from Bugs Bunny
Pinkie also breaks physics again (or has strength beyond anything we've ever seen)
Fluttershy still manages to look adorable almost the entire time
