Little Big Planet 2 Map Making Problem!

I have a problem with making the objects stay in mid air when un-pausing the game. I dont know if this is an advanced skill or its just something i havnt caught on to but if u know pls tell me

I have never made a mape but I have played the game and watched other people make maps.

Maybe making dark matter and then gluing the object to it?
Or you could always bolt it to like a tree or a pole.
