How to change your Origin ID!!

If you set your Origin ID before realizing what is was going to be used for it is actually pretty easy to change if you have an Android or iOS device.

Simply download Scrabble Free for Android or iOS and then log in with your Origin account. Once you've logged in go to settings (the little gear in the bottom left corner) and then click on "Edit Account" and there you go. You can change your username to something you are more comfortable with.

Honestly I am not 100% sure this works because I do not need to change my ID as I already have "VeRtAg0" but everyone in the reddit post is saying it works for them. I guess try at you own risk.:closedeyes:

Mine is close enough Hordor0241 and 0241 was my MOS so I personally don't have a want to change it. Kind of interested if this works though, just seems like one of them odd loop holes. If free scrabble is the only place you can change it then EA needs to rethink that a little bit. :facewall:

WootWoot!! It appears to have worked. I will not know for sure until I load into my Origin account from home. But, at least in Scrabble, I can be Krnl_Panic....

Nope

If your EA Master ID / Origin screenname exposes the following information, you are eligible for a name change.

• Your first and last name
• Your phone number
• Personally identifiable numbers, such as your social security number or government-issued ID

If your name does not meet these requirements you will not be eligible for a name-change.

Doesn't that screw with the servers? Like, what if someone is already registered as XYZ, and someone else changes their name to XYZ. That kinda defeats the purpose of an unique username, and possibly some security issues? Maybe I'm wrong, idn. Maybe it's just a tag like with Steam.

After I posted that I didn't have an iOS device or Android, I realized that Scrabble is an app, so it should work with any wi-fi enable app device aka iPod Touch =). Changed my name from dbeaves to RandyOglestein

The Scrabble folks are going to be pissed (Downloads go through the roof, no appreciable play change). If you need to do this do it soon, I would bet it stops the second Origin figures it out....

(Then again, if you do this they'll probably close your Origin account because "Scrabble People could've Hacked it"

Android has a weird bug that grays out the save button once you bring up the keyboard. To fix, hit the back button once.
