Finally going to start Airsofting after procrastination. So I wanted to both look for players near me and ask opinions on gun-game based sports with you guys.

Also, heres my gear I'll be getting soon.

$235 total (might go up if I can't find an RC charger laying around)

Why I'm Drawn To Airsoft

  • They're operative weapon replicas that work in a manner similar to their real counterparts
  • Less protection needed (i'd rather get a bunch of small cuts that will heal the same day than one welt I can't sleep on for 2 days)
  • Milisim type games are more popular than in paintball
  • Less "bullies" (IE people who play the sport just to hurt other people. I see a lot of these in my local paintball community)
  • Based on a system of trust and good sportsmanship, which promotes friendliness.
  • Don't have large Co2 canisters
  • Mainly electric, so maintenance cost is close to nothing.

I think I have like 100,000 Excel .25 BB's if you ever want to purchase some cheap. I used to run airsoft events throughout New York and Pennsylvania some years ago, and have also attended some hardcore Mil-Sim events.

I no longer have any guns, but my weapons were really extensive and the cost was well into the thousands.

This was my last gun - My M733 with a full metal body. It looked simple, but the internals were solid shooting out high RPM @ 450FPS.

This was my other M733 with a full metal body, custom painted, large battery in the laser, and tactical light:

These were my other guns - a SIG552 pushing over 500FPS, a high RPM G36C and, what I used as a counter-sniper, my M16:

Another picture of my G36C and my AK47S:

Pictured here is a very old picture of me with my M4 S-System (Top M4 of its time)

And guns that I never took any pictures of was an AUG and my fully custom XM8.

Airsoft is awesome, I truly enjoyed it, but soon I'll be using the real things so for now, I'm out of the sport.

I love paintballing! I wish I had more time for it, as well as money to go with that. for the longest time I used a 2000 model Spyder Xtra with (originally) a mechanical trigger. After a few upgrades, my Xtra had a rocking trigger, a much better barrel, an ACS bolt, better hopper, and a N2 tank.

Eventually, I got the money together to buy a new marker, so I gave my old Spyder Xtra (whose hopper and rocking trigger had since died) to my good friend who couldn't afford a paintball gun otherwise.

My new set-up is an Azodin 2011 Blitz (Red), an Extreme Rage Hopper, Dye Lock Lids with generic pod harness (cause I'm too fat for the Dye harnesses I've tried on), N2 tank, aftermarket barrel, and a Red Profiler Mask. Azodin might look like a typical Spyder clone, but DANG! They have great performance and pricing!

Me and My Azodin Blitz, my friend with my old Spyder Xtra, my other friend with his brand new Spyder Pilot

I hope everyone can see the picture, because my computer refuses to show my Photobucket pictures no matter what I do.

i prefer paintball, airsoft is cheaper but paintball more fun, its weird i like FEELING hit even if it hurts iv been hit with air soft..in the heat of battle i doubt id even feel it..espically in full gear, airsoft the guns look cooler but who cares half of em have the same exact or similar perfromance , but atthe end of teh day a basic clip fed m16 does have liek a 200 round clip and fire like that,

Paintball the guns are less realistic but have varied performances based on what you buy/do to it, can be realistic with body kits but still dont ussually perform like the real gun, but realistic performance wise version fo real guns exist but are very expensive

You're talking about midcaps. They have smaller sizes such as low caps (20-45 rounds). Midcaps are the most varied in size of the three types, and go from 60 to about 300 rounds. I personally prefer low-midcaps (60) or lowcaps (45) because its the best balance between the real amount and the increased rate of fire AEGs have.

Some People like Highcaps for some stupid reason (1000s of rounds in one clip :/ )

Also, you can dress lighter in airsoft. So you'd most likely feel it if not hear it hit you.

i played a 7 hour scenario game last night in nothing but a camo t shirt, camo jeans, and an ammo belt, i got shot alot lol so i dont care about getting hit i honeslty would not feel airsoft, paintball hurts a lot more and iv been shot several times in the heat of battle and didn't even know it wearing very little protection, and i also took quit a few shots on bare skin to the arms.

But that being said u add a vest with equimpent on it even paintballs u rarly feel it because neither do much on protected part of the body if a paintball hits ur pod or a pouch holding something ur not gonna feel it other than the vest might jerk or something, and air soft vests are just as integrate as paintball with clip pouches and such so i highly doubt ud feel airsoft hitting a vest full of stuff

was this battlefront paintball in Ohio by chance?

See, the one paintball place I've been meaning to go to but have always have school interfere with is D-Day Oklahoma. 6000+ participants!

On an somewhat related note, did my image link work? Could any of you actually see the picture?

I love paintballing. I usually go around once a month. I only wish I could go every weekend, it's a bit expensive though. Well worth the money I spend on it imo. ;)

Hell Survivors is the next biggest game with a few thousand people over 194 acres. I love the Monster game there

Blackhawk I'm just curious, what kind of gun do you have or use most often and with what sort of attachments?

X7, see above pictures

Also have 2 Rap4 T68s, one clip fed with like 12 extra mags and the other is hopper fed.

I also have a Tippmann TPX and used to have a Delta .68 pistol

Heres from when I had a m203 on it

That's sweet. How much did that m203 cost? One of my friends was looking at getting one for his gun aswell.

I've played both, I like them equally they both have their pros and cons. Paintball is more expensive while airsoft is less. Airsoft guns look a lot better however they break easier. Paintball looks odd with the hopper and the c02 but is more durable. So like I said to me, they are equal except in the damn cost. :D
