What are the normal settings for these in case someone inputs them and doesn't like it, or they have a worse problem? That way they can set their game back to the way it was.

look in "Program Files (x86)" for 64-bit systems.
Right click on autoexec and select "Open with". Set this to Notepad and check the box to always use the selected program to open this type of file (*.cfg files). Once in Notepad, make all the changes you want.
If you want to get clever, you can put stuff in other cfg files and call them from autoexec using the "exec <filename>" command.
I don't have a autoexec in my cfg file, I really don't know what I'm doing though. Those settings that Wilson said to use work great for me, I just don't want to have to enter them every time I launch tf2.
