What's Your Favorite Grand Theft Auto?

Grand Theft Auto III came out ten years ago today. It was one of those few watershed moments in gaming that pretty much changed the industry forever. Since GTAIII's release, a massive amount of GTA games have been released. From prequels to numbered sequels to hand held releases. All together there have been eight releases in the last 10 years, including GTAIII.

So which one is your favorite, and why?

I'm personally a fan of Vice City, it was the first GTA that I picked up when I came out. I played the hell out of that game and loved every moment of it. Also, how would I ever know about 80s music without this game.

GTA4 all the way. I absolutely loved the multiplayer, too.

I'd say GTA4 too, even after playing GTA2, 3, Vice City and liberty City stories. Just didnt get into them as much as GTA4, then again I'd just play my older brother's save and mess around

Story wise GTA 3. For me this had the most complex, in depth story out of the whole series so far.

Era Vice City. Just loved the whole 80s vibe to the game with the best sound track out of all the games.

Game play GTA 4. The mechanics and the way the cars handle along with the cover system make this a great game.

Replay ability GTA 4. The modding community is just so huge in this game. My once original GTA 4 does not even come close to looking like its former self.

I love San Andreas for the history and i like GTV 4 for the gameplay

Vice City and GTA 4. GTA 4 because of gameplay and graphics, and Vice City because:

-Amazing storyline
-Amazing missions
-Lots to do after game completion
-Set in the 80's, what more do you want?
-AI is great, but not perfect, they'll still kick your ass.
-Plenty of side missions
-Healthy amount of clothes

As for GTA 4:

-Decent storyline
-Outstanding graphics
-Multiplayer is the best I've ever seen
-Lot's to do (It's a GTA game!)
-Barely any costumes/other clothing
-AI is a bit stupid, but is the best I've seen since the cooperation will destroy you.

Also, I NEVER get bored of GTA. EVER. I LOVE going on killing sprees and getting 6 stars like a boss.

Grand Theft Auto is well known by even NON-GAMERS, that's just beautiful.

I liked how in Vice City you could actually buy properties and businesses. Unlike GTA 3 where your money was almost pointless, other than weapons and car repairs. Of course you could in San Andreas, but it wasn't a new feature then.

Plus with San Andreas you could customize incredible amounts of different clothes, tattoos, hair, body build. Also, eating, having a girlfriend, car shops, gang territories, etc. And the missions and storyline just went on forever.

I wish GTA4 had some of those features, but it was still a great game.

customization options of san andreas, combat/general play of IV if they had customization more than just a few outfits IV would have been super awesome coolness

My brother & I used to get a few stars & see how long we could run from the cops on bicycles.
My favorite would have to be San Andreas, followed closely by Vice City. I think Vice City had the best sound track though, but that's based purely on the nostalgia factor because I grew up in the 80's.
