Unlike all you hardcore Harry Potter fans I haven't watched the Part 2 Deathly Hallows. Why you might ask? Because I want to wait and either A) Watch all these one by one again and then watch the last Harry Potter, or B) Buy the complete DVD set and watch them all at once . Anyways I do hope this really isn't the ENTIRE end of Harry Potter. By that I mean, they could do a miniseries set in the past or future of Harry Potter and so forth with all the third party idea extensions that I'm sure they have been offered.

But nonetheless, what's yall's two cents?

mmm i don't think it matters all too much.

the last HP movie was done well, but again, much like all the other HP movies, does not begin to compare with the books themselves.

I don't think anyone was surprised with the content of the movie as most have read the book far well in advance to know exactly what was going to happen.

So my 2cents is: Read the Books!

They almost should have made the books into a miniseries. At least then they would be able to adequately touch on the major events from the books. The movies much like so many other movies can't do the books justice, simply because there are usually subplots.

I will say that though the first half of the movie is rather slow, but there is a lot that has to be set in place to for the second half of Deathly Hallows.

I agree with both of you, but like with all major book series that have moved onto the theater screen, they will always cut and slim the parts from the book side. The only book I've read from the Harry Potter series was Deathly Hallows and let me tell you, that was one damn huge ass book lol.

actually thats what i did. i waited for them all to come out and re-watched them all. now i have one more, last one left.
i was 10 years old when the movie came out. makes me feel so old :(

so many movies just totally miss the point of the books

nice example in the fantasy genre would be eragon

JK Rowling has discussed writing a prequel to HP following Sirius and the other Marauders (James Potter, etc). Shes already done this to an extent with "Pottermore" where she explains the backstories of certain things that weren't explored in the book (IE Like the other two houses that were almost completely ignored).

I've read all of them up to 3/4 of the way through HP 6. Seen almost all the movies other than the last one.

i love the books to pieces, and the movies weren't half bad either. they were quite well done in fact in my opinion. i though they touched on the key points of each book as well as they could considering how long and how much material each book had. i just hope that they come out with a box set of all the movies for Christmas. now that would be awesome.

Coincidentally, I watched part two on Monday. The only cinema I have in town seems to only run films during the gap between the period when its in cinemas and the release of the film on DVD.

Which is pretty convenient really. Plus they cost like a few pounds for a balcony seat which is awesome.

I don't want them to ruin it, they are just going to make Darthy sad :(

I don't know if you have heard but there is going to be something called "pottermore" an online harry potter experience.

I'm probably the biggest HP nerd on this forum, I've read the books atleast 8 times, I've listened to the audiobooks atleast 14 times and I must have seen the films atleast 5 times each.

I actually saw all of the current movies whan my family came to vist from out of state. They were on dvd and i was able to watch them on my big screen @ home. I dont know much about the creator of the series, but whomever, has a very creative mind. The special effects are awesome. Some of the english terminology or phrases i dont follow all of the time, but very well presented. I will have to yeld to our english Brother's & Sister's across the pond to help me on that part. :). I think most would agree, it's worth your time to sit and watch

Loved the books, bought em all the day they came out, movies were atrocious.

The movies were that bad for you? I thought at some points there were dull moments, but I guess to fully call it atrocious it must be something more in detail why you didn't really enjoy it.
