If you use Avast anti-virus do the following steps, these steps may work for other anti-viruses as well, add battlelog to the exclusions list.

When I was at the Battlelog site I was not receiving pop ups for invites for games or parties. This was very frustrating, after trying Chrome, Firefox, and IE, same situation no pop up alerts for Battlelog!

I use Free Avast for my antivirus software.
If you do too, this is a fix for you.

Open Avast
Click "Real Time Shields"
Click "Web Shield"
Click "Expert Settings"
Make sure "Enable Web Scanning", "Scan Traffic from well-known browser processes only", and "Use Intelligent Stream Scanning" are checked.
Click "Exclusions" under the same "Web Shield Settings" window.
Under URLs to exclude put, (http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/)
Click Ok. DONE!


I did the above steps and now without the sacrifice of any active protective Avast functions, Battlelog pop ups, invites, and alerts, now work just fine.

Again this is only if you use Free Avast, I assume the full version is the same.

Took me forever to figure this out...spent about 25 minutes researching it while waiting to speak to live support....managed to find a youtube video that explained this on the 8th or 9th page of a google search.

Another thing about joining with co-op and it not working is the Origin update that's been released.

People with different versions cannot join eachother in co-op games, as confirmed by myself and Gizmo last night, as well as iPBJ, who initially informed us of the pre-release version you can get.

This does not interfere with joining servers for those worried about it and supposedly has helped with some crashing issues (which is what the patch is meant for anyways).

How to get it:

open origin
go to settings
scroll down under the general tab
check the box that says something about pre-release versions (dunno exact text, not @ home)
save settings
close origin
open origin
It should automatically start the patch DL. Not a large patch either, so it's all good for those with slower connections.

I have also noticed from a few friends that when they try to join a co-op game the co-op game cancels, I fixed this problem by opening up the BF3 Ports:

If you are playing on PC, please enable the following online ports on your connection:

TCP: 80, 443, 9988, 20000-20100, 22990, 17502, 42127
UDP: 3659, 14000-14016, 22990-23006, 25200-25300

Just adding battlelog to my exceptions didn't work, I had to completely disable the web shield.

No problem I find it funny a lot of gamers use Avast, myself included. I switched to Eset anti-virus since it says it is more gamer friendly and no more problems w00t!
