Hey Guys,
Kind of on my last try here, ive been on a dozen forums, read though a million different posts and asked as many fellow geeks as i can find and im still unable to find a fix for this.
Basically, every time i try and run BF3, it crashes. Either i get a nice blank screen and it says 'Battlefield 3 has stopped working and needs to close' when i open the game, either MP or SP, or i get the same error when it finishes loading something, or in the case of SP, all of this and i cant get past the bit on operation swordbreaker or whatever its called, when you have to sprint down that allyway (yes thats right, before you even need to fire your weapon) it crashes EVERY time, half way down on the exact point.
Ive managed to play one solitary MP game and as soon as it ends, after the score board, when it loads the next map, boom, back to desk top with that same error.
Ive tried:
Reinstalling BF3
Running repair tool
updating DX11
Updating GFX drivers/catalyst control center
Running as Admin
Running in IE
Swearing at it
Removing all the files apart from the exe and the dll's from the dx folder inside BF directory before installing
Updating W7 to service pack 1, despite already having it
Running with graphics on Low even though i can run ultra
After I downloaded 11.4gb for the 3rd time this week (so glad i have unlimited broadband that actually is, thank you o2) and installed BF3 again, it then got stuck in an eternal loop of - run game - "not installed properly, please reinstall" then - use repair tool - "Your game is up to date and we found no errors and everything is fine, go about your business - back to - "Its *, you gotta reinstall again sucka" etc etc. I actually had to system restore to get around this ffs.
Genuinely cant believe DICE agreed to let EA release this -what-should-clearly-still-be-in-alpha-stage game!
Im completely at my wits end here! It just WILL NOT run! Ive completely given up all hope of EA actually giving a * about helping me, the mere existence of origin itself is enough to prove they no longer care about the people who pay their wages, but aside from that its clear that im one of 1000's of people on the net who have the same problem and no one, least of all EA, has any kind of suggestion that actually works! Either way though, im just hoping that maybe someone here will?
Sorry, didn't actually intend to rant about EA, i genuinely want some help, ive been waiting for this game for yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaars. Just kinda sick of being pissed on without even the curtesy to call it rain!
Oh and to clarify, im running
Liquid cooled 2.4ghz AMD Quad (a baby i know, but still more than capable)
6gb Ram
Radeon HD6870 clocked to 915mhz (the 1gb one) which is parked right next to a 250mm side case fan, below 2 120mm case fans and close to another 2 120mm case fans - my point being, cooling really isnt an issue, it sits at a nice 50 degrees-ish under load
W7 home edition - service pack 1

ordinarily i can actually make it to a menu but it would seem at the moment its not having any of it.
Also, apologies for the fact i sound half dead, I had been at work all day and had just got back from an early halloween party. it was like, 4am!
