Thought I'd make a list of upcoming games that I'm excited to get, or are big budget titles for the PC:

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - November 8, 2011 (Don't like subscription fees to play multiplayer)
Elder Scrolls V Skyrim - November 11, 2011 (buying)
Minecraft (Retail Release) - November 18, 2011 (will own)
Star Wars: The Old Republic - December 20, 2011 (maybe)
Tribes: Ascend - Next Beta Test November 4, 2011 - ETA December 2011 (pre-ordered)
Mass Effect 3 - March 6, 2012 (skipping)
Diablo III - March 31, 2012 (ETA) (buying)
Guild Wars 2 - ETA Unknown (Possibly Q1 2012) (maybe)
Planetside 2 - ETA Unknown (Possibly Q1 2012) (buying)

What PC titles are you excited about or planning on buying?

The main games Im looking at/waiting for.
Skyrim
Diablo III
Minecraft
Guild Wars II
Project Zombiod (indie zombie survival game)

TOR
Diablo 3

I thought the monthly fee involved with MW3 is only for their site they built, plus all expansions are free. You can still play online without it I'm pretty sure. I read it somewhere.

I rechecked the news for the fees and what I've found and had repeated in several other sites is:

MW3: Elite is the name of the subscription service IW is offering. As you noted xosniper, you can still play MW3 on multiplayer without this service. However, for DLC content, and other services beyond what's built into the multiplayer, you need to pay for this subscription. So definitely not a bad thing, but still not sure it's a good thing. Especially how IW/Activision screwed up MW2 and the features (or lack thereof), I'm very cautious towards new CoD games now.

But that's just one game out of many on the list, and this really isn't on my Need To Buy list.

Skyrim
Skyrim
Mass Effect 3

I'm probably not buying MW3, because it's extremely identical to MW2(sounds, voices, weapons, HUD, graphics, etc) but now you can have perks that make your gun not recoil..

Skyrim
Bioshock Infinite
Mass Effect 3
DotA 2
Borderlands 2
Xcom http://pc.ign.com/objects/142/14252327.html
Dark Souls - I've heard mixed comments about whether this will be on PC or not...[ame="http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/dark-souls/news/6313856/dark-souls-impressions?sid=6313856&mode=previews"]http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/dark-souls/news/6313856/dark-souls-impressions?sid=6313856&mode=previews[/ame]
Dishonored http://pc.ign.com/articles/118/1186458p1.html
Metro Last Light
Torchlight II

So many that I'm going to have to live off steam sales for the next 3 years just to buy them all.

2011-2012 gaming years y u so amazing =(

SKYRIM, probably mass effect 3, maybe guild wars 2, and maybe bioshock

MW3 can die in a fire for all i care...hell I hope sledge hammer games and activisions building burns down, it would be karama

What's ME3? Do you mean MW3?

Mass Effect 3.... I'm hoping no one will pick up MW3 so that series finally dies. MW was good, and fun; MW2 was copy/paste from MW and then somehow worse; BO the same, and I'm not excited over the status of society if yet another copy/paste + random number generator sequel becomes a best seller.

Now I feel dumb for not putting ME3 = Mass Effect. Goes to show that I'm really not that interested in that game...

And Cacophonus, I agree. I personally think that the original CoD and CoD4 were the best two of the series, and it's all downhill from here. I'm only interested in the storyline for the sequels after CoD4 for those "Whoa!" moments.

Modern Warfare 3 (getting it free, activision doesn't deserve $60 up front + $20 a month)

Skyrim (I think I'm going to wait. There isn't really anything in the preorder bonuses that would make me buy day 1. If its on sale on Black Friday or Holiday sales for $40 its a definite buy)

Mass Effect (Never really liked it, so not buying)

Project Zomboid (buying if the full version comes out)

for a "realistic" shooter BF3 had way better story "whoa" moments than any cod or really any standard shooter, felt like a movie most of the time. It had action, but also portrayed it as being able to possibly happen as well, the way they handled soldiers was in a realistic manner but still had a lot of action

how are you getting it free? if you won it or something they still got there money cus they still bought the game so unless your pirating it i don't see how you getting it free doenst still get them their money

Naku - The subscription is for an additional feature. MW - Elite is the name of the service, pretty much it's they're catch all model for those who plan on getting all the additional extras that you would normally buy separately. For example, DLC is included with the subscription, but there are additional features that Elite comes with that IW says makes the Elite a worthwhile purchase. Buying the game itself gives you SP and MP, just not the additional features that are with the Elite subscription. So Rukus could get the game free as a Christmas present.

As for BF3's "Whoa!" moments. There were some, but not a huge number for me. Or rather, there may have been a lot of "Whoa!" moments, but not any truly momentous ones that really captivated me. Additionally, I don't care if it feels like a movie. If I wanted a movie, I would of paid to see one. I wanted to interact and have fun with the game. A movie feeling = lame. Interactive movie = win. If I was to compare CoD4 vs BF3, CoD4 wins hands down. I can't say for MW2 or BO since I never got those two (may soon get them after another price drop) Yes, the way they handled soldiers made it believable, but like I said, that's not a "whoa!" moment. The biggest moments for me was the tank assault scene and the finale sequence, and I've already played other games with tank assaults that were just as equal in enjoyment. But that's my opinion. Take it or leave it.

Minecraft is a definite, can't wait for 1.9. I used to be excited for Diablo III but in my opinion they're butchering it (and no, NOT because of the RMAH). I'm not really excited much for any other games, except for perhaps Skyrim but not enough to buy full price. I'll wait till its on sale in a few months.
