Hola guys.

Just this evening I found out that one of my chickens was developing a tumor in her body and she has to be put down..it was sad but we didn't want her to be in pain from it. On another side note though, how many animals do YOU own? I currently have 2 dogs (Chocolate Labrador, and a Border-Collie) 3 cats, and 4 chickens.

I have 2 cats, 2 dogs and 3 fish. Used to be a lot more than that.

I have one big dog, named moe-joe; He's a black and white greyhound.

I love my boy.

<-------I have that wiener dog named Frank. My daughter has a tea cup chihuahua named Tito, rabbit named lucky, and two hermit crabs.

The hubby is allergic to furry creatures of all sorts :crying: so we have a fishtank. Used to have 17 fishies, but we're down to 13 now. The only one that has a name is an evil shark named Don Bruce - he's quite the tank bully. The other sharks are technically named One Eye and Goblin, but I can't keep straight which one is which....

BW and I have no animals, but we've considered getting either a cat or dog for our apartment. However, we always come to the conclusion that we don't feel responsible enough yet to feed them, take them outside, clean up after them, and generally keep them alive. So we have nothing yet.

Two dogs. Sparky and Pepper. We don't know what they are exactly; we adopted them from the shelter, because we're nice people.
I only have a picture of Pepper though, so here's a picture of her. She appears mostly some kind of hound, with her fur color indicating some German Shepherd blood. She also has hip problems, partly because she always has and partly because she's an old lady now. Earlier this year she had surgery to help her when it was becoming so much of a problem that sitting down, standing up, walking the wrong way, and laying down the wrong way would cause her to yelp in pain.

Sparky is not so huge but still medium-sized, and has long, tangled, black fur with a growing patch of white on his chest. He's some kind of collie mix. He appears rather rounded, but it could just be his fur obscuring his shape. They're getting old...
I mean, look at Pepper. She just looks so tired (well, she always has) and wrinkly (only slightly more now than before, she's mostly hound, what do you expect?) and her muzzle is almost completely white (a far cry from her original solid dark black muzzle), overall her fur has gotten paler over the years...makes me sad.

As for their personalities, Sparky is really intelligent for a dog and is very friendly. We generally understand each other most of the time unless he's excited and trying to lead me somewhere but afraid of leading me somewhere because he knows that we're the heads of the "pack" at our house. He either gives up after awhile or becomes more excited if I say what it is that he wants. It tends to be "water" "food" "outside" or "to bark."

Pepper, on the other hand, is cunning, yet very lazy and also neurotic. She schemes to get more food, usually using physics to her advantage. Once, we gave them each some leftovers. When she was done with hers, she flipped over Sparky's plate in a manner that landed his food right next to her. As for her laziness, she pretty much just sits in one place for half hours to hours at a time.
And for how crazy she is... she howls at things. She won't bark. She'll scoff, whine, yawn, and howl, but hardly ever will she bark. And she is loud when she howls. And she howls a lot. More evidence to the fact that she's neurotic being how nervous she is around unfamiliar people, my younger brother, or too many people at once. Not to mention how she chews herself. She will, at any given time, have a patch of missing fur on one or more of her legs with less skin than there should be simply because she bit herself a lot there. Recently she's been making gaps between some fur on her tail. She does not have fleas. She does not have anything physically wrong with her that causes her to be itchy at that spot. She's just neurotic. If you need anymore evidence, you should just see her when it thunderstorms really hard, the power goes out, she sees some creature in the back yard, or when Sparky kills something in the back yard. And how overly excited she gets when she or Sparky is to go on a walk. We had to replace the door handle partially because she wanted to follow Sparky out on a walk.

Together, the dogs don't really think much of each other. Sparky seems to think of her as "the girl I live with who hoards bones and balls, and steals food" and Pepper thinks of him as "that guy I live with who bothers me to no end." Both are rather smart, as evidenced by Sparky seeming to understand every word I say to him and the example I alluded to with Pepper above, when she showed off her knowledge of how to open a door. Unfortunately for her, she found out in that experiment that she was physically incapable of opening doors.

They get extremely excited when we mention the word "walk" casually to them. Should probably take them on walks more often...
