Just curious, as I also just applied on SWOTR.com,
Why a PvP server? Always ruined the story / questing since you have to race to the highest level or it's a gank-fest. Sorry, old school WoW taught me that a level 60 one shotting a level 20 is considered "PvP". Was always a joke.
Seriously though, unless they changed the mechanics of the realms, is there a reason?

Yeah I kinda wish we'd gone for PvE as well. World PvP is always pointless and just not fun for me. I'm down for organized PvP matches and such, but not being ganked by people with more time to play than me, or being griefed.

I think world PvP is better because if you are being ganked while leveling, you can either go do something else somewhere else (enjoy some of the other content), or if you have a higher level that can fight the ganker then, you have a fight. Not to mention, ganking goes both ways.
Ganked by someone of equal or similar level = fine.
After years and years of WoW . . . guess how many times that happened . . . I think I can count it on one hand.
No, PvP realm players are usually the tards with level 50's who troll level 15-30 areas and one shot 20-30 people and escape before someone that really is competition shows up. But of course, it's "PvP". It's a joke.
Sorry, forgive the griefing. Never understood why MMOs allowed crap like that to happen. I always said there should be a massive penalty for attacking someone over 10 levels below you.
We'll see if SWTOR has the balls to do something like that.
No there shouldn't be a penalty for someone killing 10 levels below you. Its al part of the fun getting ganked in my oppion. Because then you can go work on craftin, selling you items, etc.. plus if they leave before you can get your friend to help you, the you have the chance to level again.
My point is it's not PvP. One shot, you're dead. No chance to fight back, your attacks don't even hit the other player, it's not "player vs player".
Along with my massive sense of self importance I have a huge sense of chivalry. So picking on someone smaller then me has no appeal.
Just never had fun in WoW getting ganked. You're on your level 30 priest or warlock or what have you, a level 70 rogue one shots you in your area. You die, rez, go to another area and the same rogue follows you. Rinse and repeat. You take the rez sickness, call out the ganker in chat, hearth back and now your day is over since you can't collect the materials you need to craft or the items you need to quest because you are being camped. Meanwhile your level 70 friends all head out there to take on the rogue and get to have fun. It always made PvP servers a race to the highest level so you could actually go about questing and gathering materials to actually have a chance against a ganker.
Put it this way . . . how many times were you "ambushed" by someone 10 levels below you? Never happened in almost 6 years of WoW for me.
You weren't on during the plague between BC and WotLK then. Damn lower levels would do their best to infect entire areas, and me being a priest, I felt it was my responsibility to cat Cure Disease on everyone. Which is rather ironic since I was the Forsaken....

First of all you cant kill people of the other Faction unless you are on a contested world. plus those worlds dont come until around lvl 22-50 and lvl 50's cannot go around killing lowbies. if they do it is considered harassment and will be warned by a GM and if they continue to do so will be certainly banned. I've asked some GM's about that

That will be nice, alltho i dont think that applies on a PvP world, sense that warning message comes up when u select the world.
I consider a level 50 killing a level 25 "ganking" lowbies. Heck, a level 50 killing anything lower then a 40 would be ganking for me.
Ganking is... hit or miss for me. Sometimes, when frustrated, it can relieve stress... somehow. Yeah I know, it's terrible thinking that it's okay to gank, but it can be rather entertaining, I do think. On the flip-side, I think there are only a few appropriate times when you should do it. When your alt is getting ganked a lot by the same guy, helping out a friend on a contested world who doesn't PvP much, ect.
if they are gonna do that it's pretty sad. I mean, ganking is part of the game...if you dont like it, dont play on a PvP server.
But we as eGO are playing on a PvP server. I think the PvP will just bring more teamwork.

bwahahahahah I remember that. So much death! I just went and killed the scourge at the necropolises and got the tokens to buy all the argent dawn stuff available then.

Hope not actually, reputation can precede you and that's fine. But it can also make you a target by the little guilds who just want to elicit a reaction.
