Look, Im not the quickest when it comes to computer mumbo jumbo, dont just expect me to do something to help fix my rates without telling me why Im doing it, this "just do it" crap doesnt fly with me. And when I asked to be told in steam rather than in game, I would appreciate no arguing with me. I dont want to hunt through the console after 20 people have been killed just to try to find the command. Besides I wasnt looking to change my rates, i was looking for help with my lag. If anyone can help me with trying to fix that that would be great. Besides that point, dont make fun of me, or laugh at me or tell me that im stupid just because I dont do exactly what you tell me to do without giving me reason or justification behind it. I dont just go to work cuz im told to, i go cuz i have a reason to.

Noone should be harrassed or talked down upon because of their computer knowledge or lack of skill. I personally are not good at computers and dont understand the rates and stuff.

Your lag might be caused by a few things.

-Distance from the servers, which are in Texas.
-Type of internet: Comcast or Dial-up makes a huge difference

I don't know what happened there or who you did speak with but I would recommend you to see it from the other perspective..:

You are asking for help.. not the others. So you should maybe follow the advices you get or just leave it.
Maybe the others don't have the time and mood to explain in detail why their advices could work but still are trying to help you.. ever thought of that?
There are several reasons possible why you are lagging.. could be just that your internet connection sux. ^^ But why don't you try the possible solutions for your problem that were given to you and if it doesn't work just change it back?

Be a little more thankful to those who tried to help you (apparently..) instead of demanding a scientific explanation while the others maybe just wanna play the game and not deal with your problems. Still they gave you advices!
Also there is this great invention called "google". I know, it sounds mysterious but it can help a lot to find one of the thousands of threads on the internet that deal with the problem of lagging ingame.
So if you don't like the help of others why don't you just search for the solution yourself..


PS: Next time pls just send a pm to the person you address, knock it off or post a more decent help searching post here.. That's better than posting a big rant no one understands and it might also increase the ppl's willingness to help you out.

To begin with your attitude stinks, your technique of asking for help leaves a lot to be desired. If I paraphrase your request it would run like this "Give me some help NOW, be precise, we're gonna do this on my terms, don't give me any crap and give me what I need". There's not a great deal you can do in game to help your lag except change your rates. All the console command nonsense doesn't really improve lag at all from what I've seen. I would close all other programs that are running, get rid of any unnecessary startup programs, check for spyware, run optimization programs (www.pcpitstop.com) and sign up to gamerail. Lag depends on your internet speed as well, high speed broadband would be preferable, possibly 2 meg or more. If you have a slow under performing pc with a poor internet connection then no amount of tweaking will improve your lag.

One thing you need to learn in life is patience. Being demanding and what-not will get you nowhere. Respect for others will be shown in return. If you can't be bothered to look up the information yourself (Google FTW) and then expect someone else to give you the answers you want, the way you want them, you're not going to get them.

Pardon me for this coming across as brash/blunt/mean/whatever, but, I personally am getting tired of the 'Me Me Me' attitude these days. You came here looking for help, that's cool. But you certainly went about it the wrong way. Computer specs?

Your graphical settings?

when asking for help, id suggest not trying to control the stituation so much....but check your specs, where you're located compared to the servers, and if you have a pre made computer, always look for those little anooying programs that auto run.
