Battlefield 2142

Just thought I'd throw an idea out for the leaders of the clan. In the last big meeting you said you weren't sure what you were going to do with some of the servers we get from the sponsor. I just wanted to say I think it would be cool to get some servers for Battlefield 2142. I play it a lot and I think it's really fun! Just my two cents...

I am pretty much the clan battlefield whore, I pitched this to the council 8 months ago or so but there was no interest in it. I wouldnt mind the idea but the fact is.. its an old game so it is dying off. I still am heavily involved in the whole Battlefield thing. Eventually, I am not sure when... there will be interest in getting a BF3 server started when the game comes out (late 2008). But until then I dont see this happening. If you want some info about BF3... let me know.. id be happy to post it.

yuk, 2142 sucks, no offense. BF2 or 3 wouldn't be so bad though.

I'd like to see a dod classic server, but it's unlikely considering its an old game. Colmar/jagd rotation server might be cool.

I agree... a while back when I pitched the BF2 thing.. there was no interest in it simply because of the whole classic dod thing.. the game is old and dying.

well..i like dods more than bf2142...and equal with bf2.....im just playing bf2 more because dods lags on me like hell....but im happy with our dods , tf2 and css server..and we need no bf server..unless more people (20% out of the clan^^) are interessted in having a bf server..or more bf servers

I am a big BF fan, and BF2142 did do a better job with the kit customization then BF2 ever did. Let me guess, the guys that hate it did not play the game enough to get the cool unlocks, and Sprinkles and I are high enough ranked so we play with all of the stuff that makes BF2142 so great. I will admit that BF2 does have advantages, but I like the weapons a heck of a lot better in BF2142. And Hoban, I cry myself to sleep knowing that the Dice team is spending their time on Battlefield Heroes instead of making BF2142 better.

Stunna what rank are you and Sprinkles? I made it to Colonel in BF2 then I stopped playing.

Spark its an older game so the price is very low these days... probably $10 or so. Here is the link if you wanted it though.

look closely, he said WWI (i might point that is the number ONE). 1942 is a WWII game (that is a TWO).

having said that, a WWI game would be the worst idea ever. sit in a trench for a few hours and then run across into an open field being cut in half by machinegun fire and 205mm arty shells.



what we really need rather than a 2142 server is a Project Reality server. a real man's game!

My mistake.. I couldnt see straight i guess since i had just woke up after a night of partying.
I guess the only appeal of the game would be the aerial combat. The real dogfighting unlike todays games where the only thing needed is missiles and AA tools
