Mortars are annoying.

If you don't want to be mortared use a suppressor so that you don't appear on the minimap. That being said, I agree they are totally annoying.

... or just pull out your own mortars and quickly kill their mortars and go back to playing.

1) You can be spotted
2) for whatever reason DICE decided that launching an m302 grenade didn't count as being quiet
3) They can just spam a chokepoint.

I like playing Hardcore, because mortars seem to be less annoying... but, no matter what, there will be at least two people, at most FIVE on the opposite team spamming mortars. Another 8-12 people are snipers, and other half of the team are camping in an enclosed area with health and ammo kits, usually with said snipers.

/agree with mortars being annoying when spammed

Thats why i dont play HC for the most part it encourages sniping too much for my enjoyment

Its an interesting twist to the gameplay, something new so I dont mind it.

I just think they should be restricted from being used in spawn. Especially when they SOMETIMES don't show up on the map. But, I DO love running into the enemy spawn just to pick off a mortarcamper. Also, if everyone's mortaring, you're not going to win.

Maybe it's just me cause I love to mortar but I think they are a lot of fun. Most of the time though when I mortar it's to take out the enemy mortars. I can see where it would get annoying but personally I have never had issues with the mortars.

Its the sniper that really bother me. Mortars are eh, I've never used them but I might when I get them. Who knows.

Honestly mortars are fine, if the enemy team wants to stay bunched up and run around with their heads cut off, they deserve to be bombarded.

Mortars are in war and anything realistic sounds good to me. Just spot their mortars with a MAV and conduct counter battery operations. = Problem solved..

As long as there isnt 5 people spamming mortars on the opposite team I have no problem with it. Besides DICE has already said they will be nerfing them in the next patch...

I dont see what the issue is. Just like in real combat, when you encounter something new you have to overcome it....Hence what was said earlier, good counter mortar is the quickest way to silence a mortar....

totally agree with you, this is a battlefield and all these things are part of it.

The issue is people RAGE whenever they die, especially from something that they have a hard time being able to kill.

i completely agree with the point about mortars not being allowed to camp back in their spawn, because it is really hard to kill someone mortaring when you have to run out of bounds just to get a shot on them

I bet dice will make mortars do 25% damage instead of 50%...make them useless lol. Tbh I hate mortars, but I see no reason to complain. If you figured out how to counter mortar, it wouldn't even be an issue. The only reason mortars are a #1 complaint is because the opposing team isn't moving. If they were moving around the map instead of sitting in one spot, mortars wouldn't be all that helpful, since they take time to come down on their targets.

tl;dr play as a good team, keep moving, mortars don't help or camp, get killed, complain :)
