...I now present it to you.
The London Philharmonic Orchestra released an album today containing 21 (22 on the bonus track version) very well done covers of popular video game music. Some highlights include the Zelda, Mario, Tetris, Call of Duty, Mass Effect, Uncharted, and Angry Birds! As you can see, there is a wide variety. I IMPLORE you to check this out! As a Performing Arts Major concentrating in Audio Technology at my school, I am constantly pushing for people to listen to symphonic and orchestral music and to listen to songs with better recorded quality. I am happy to say that this album has both. I can tell this entire set was arranged, recorded, mixed, and mastered with care. I hope some of you will give it a chance and give this fading genre a chance.
Here is a link to a review that IGN did, and here is the iTunes link! The version at [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Greatest-Video-Game-Music/dp/B005WV6ZI8/ref=sr_1_1_digr?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1320785411&sr=1-1"]Amazon[/ame] has a different bonus track, one from Dead Space, so pick which game you like more, haha.
