It's bad. Damn, is it bad. The fact that Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3 are even compared to each other saddens me. The only reason Modern Warfare 3 has 16 maps is because each map is the size of one flag area in Battlefield 3. Literally. Take "Checkpoint" from Caspian Border, for example. Checkpoint alone is bigger than every single MW3 map. That makes me giggle.

Long live Battlefield. I've played both franchises since the original Call of Duty and Battlefield 1942, and I'm proud to say I'm a part of the Battlefield division here at eGO.

Carry on!

I myself only get COD for the campaign, I own them all minus BO and MW3

Its not bad, its sweet. I suppose you only have BF3 and not MW3 as well.

How can you say it's bad if you dont own it?

Also, why does this thread belong here?

hes played both since original /1942 that assumes he's got the most recent versions too.

Yea I heard the same. Just like MW2 is what I heard from a game reviewer friend that works for gametrailers.com

I'll end up playing the single player but CoD multiplayer has never been my niche. I don't know if we should call it bad, it's just a different style of game play. I do find that style much much more limited then BF series and due to that it's not my thing.

Play BF series for teamwork
Play MW series for individual performance

Neither belong in the same category, can't compare the two as such, even though people typically do. Totally different games.

+1 BF3 has larger maps because it utilizes vehicles. CoD doesn't have vehicles so there's no point in having huge maps. Imagine how fun it'd be trying to run across the map in any of the BF3 vehicle maps. Not very, I'd say. I'm actually enjoying MW3 more than BF3 right now, as much as I wanted to like BF3 more. However, I DID skip MW2 because of no dedicated servers. MW3 having dedicated servers is a mixed thing since you can't level up, but server admins can release what weapons/perks are available to players, so it falls upon them to change the settings.

FYI: I was a BF1942 player until the first CoD came out, and then I got hooked on that game, so I experienced the opposite effect of acg.

This thing right here, yup.

cod multiplayer is just bla. the times ive played i just ran in circles cause both teams did. the reason i have mw1 and 2 and black ops is the single player part. and thats why ill wait until mw3 is on sale on steam or somewhere else.
bf3 is just more interesting then cod.

If someone bought MW3 for me on steam I could totally tell you which game was better.

The real fact here is, Call of Duty hasn't changed since 4 and 5. MW2 and Black Ops were simply rehashes of the above stated games with new maps, weapons, and very rarely, gamemodes. Battlefield 3 has a brand new engine, is bursting with great graphics, and more. When it comes to multiplayer, DICE has it down pat with vehicles and 64 player matches...especially appealing to PC players. Singleplayer on CoD was always fun for the most part, despite being mostly run and gun there was a true story behind it and you felt attached to your friendly CPU soldiers. In addition, its smaller maps help console players by making it easier to aim (ie, its easier to aim down a small corridor than across a large map). The games can't be compared. They're made for separate audiences and purposes, and neither of them is just bad. No one buys bad games. Both of these hits have sold millions already.

Imagine how fun it'd be trying to run across the map in any of the BF3 vehicle maps.

Derailed and wasteland and that desert one cant remember the name. yep those were annoying to truck across but nothing compared to bf3 maps... I've suicided and went back to deployement to get a jeep rather then walk.

Since I wouldn't be the first non- BF division member to post here, I thought I would voice my opinion. I don't see how you can call it bad, as said above, if you don't have it. Also, small maps aren't necessarily a bad thing.. It is just different then BF3..

Some guys at work were having a conversation about MW3 vs BF3 and about a reddit post with a MW3 review that made pretty much everyone laugh. Mind you it is an EA testing facility so bias is present ofc. But basically someone had posted a review on reddit of MW3 basically saying it was the biggest MW2 map pack released to date but $65 (including tax) was a bit much for a map pack
