i absolutely love my macbook pro. i use it mostly for school/work and the like. I've never had an issue of compatibility or any major bugs or problems with mine.

With that said, I rarely ever game on my macbook pro. It just doesn't feel right and you'll run into games that are not supported on the mac operating system. You could always get a parallel and run windows on your mac if you want.

In my opinion, if you're getting this for school/work, it'll be a great asset to you. If your primary objective is for gaming, stick with a PC.

My sister has that one. Its a great laptop and a nice mix of power and mobility. The only complaint I have with it is a sub-par built-in mic. Get yourself a bigger external monitor and the m14 would be a perfect college laptop.

Check out the link in my sig for my m17x R3 review. The m14 is similar in all aspects other than size factor and gpu power.

If you can wait until mid to late December to buy a laptop, I would also suggest checking out the Razer Blade. Not something I would replace my m17x with, but seems solid in the prototype stages.

Naa, the only multi-display laptop I have found was really silly looking, and those of us in the accounting field are incredibly concerned with aesthetics. :P

lol built to withstand hours of tedious number crunching. On a slightly separate note, two 10inch monitors do not = one 20inch.

But they are outrageously overpriced compared to companies like MSi and ASUS who can provide you with a laptop for much less than alienware. If you're looking for a desktop, alienware is a joke. Who would pay that much for a desktop you could build for half the price?

your argument is invalid as we are not discussing desktop machines. While I agree that an alienware desktop is a waste of money, the OP is interested in a laptop only. I invite you to compare alienware laptop pricing vs. asus and dell. You will find 100-200 dollars price difference at worst.

I had a MacBook that I played on (17", but I used an external monitor). The integrated graphics are actually better than the midrange card I have in my desktop now. I never had problems with smoke before, but now it jitters when I look at smoke. A new card is in the works
