Problems with new processor

Hi!

After i upgraded my AMD 2X processor to a AMD 6X processor i have had fps drops and lags on most games. Then i changed it down to a AMD II 4X 540 processor and it helped a bit but there is still some slower loading times and fps drops when playing games. Is it that my computer cant run it or i have something old?

My computer specs:

Windows XP
ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series
AMD II 4X 540 processor

Did your BIOS properly identify and clock the X6?

A looong time ago I put together an Intel dual core and had the same issue - turns out that the motherboard under clocked the processor by a whole gigahertz.

When U Turn Ur CPU On... There R Some Functions That Say F1/F2/F10/F12... Not Sure Which One... N U Press Those Button On Ur Keyboard (Try F2 Then F10 Then F12) ... Just Spam The Button Once U Turn Ur CPU On... U'll Find It Eventually

I found some options about clocking but they are all put to automatic and i have no idea what to change them to.

What motherboard are you using, and what programs are you using to test this?
