New COD Game confirmed for 2012

Wow...I mean...why would you do that? It kinda makes MW3 a temporary fix to Black Ops In my opinion. I think that its gonna result in lower game sales for them. Who wants to buy a game a year? you wont ever have time to experience all the map packs/ex packs that will come out. Seems to me, like perhaps they were wanting to do more, but had to put out MW3 by a certain timetable. Only thing that makes sense to me.

all of the CoD noobs are probably drooling after reading that

Well I wouldn't call them noobs :P I am one of them :), but it does make you feel

"Why buy a game, get your stats up, than start all over again in less than a year"

It is kind of sad. They have screwed the PC gamers over since MW2 :( Wish they'd get it right.

Call of Duty has been an annual game for a while now, nothing shocking here. Saw it coming. And its not being made by IW, probably Treyarch's turn in the cycle. They've been working on it since Black Ops. The game releases annually but the dev cycle is 2 years. BF4 can wait. I was thinking maybe they would want to release BC3? BC2 was a successful game.

They sure do a good job ruining it. I'm no CoD fan, but sort of makes me feel sorry for those who are really interested.

Do you guys know what? We're the Battlefield division, and we have reason to be proud. This does not include posting threads badmouthing CoD or putting Activision down about marketing techniques. Do I particularly like the way they do this? No, but are we really making ourselves any better or showing maturity by posting these threads and replies? No. We're making ourselves look immature. Can we please end the hate Call of Duty threads or Call of Duty versus Battlefield? We're here to talk about Battlefield.

I have to agree with PBJ here. Despite what division our members participate in it doesn't label them noobs. Sharing news and stating your opinion on the NEWS is one thing.. calling fellow clan members names because of their choice of entertainment is not appropriate. Stay on topic ^.^

I also mentioned Battlefield and its announcement. Both games are closely tied to one another. Both companies push each other because they both fight for the same audience. I wasn't ripping on the CoD community. I am apart of that community. Maybe not here on eGO, but still apart of it. I actually play both, well MW3 mainly for its campaign. I was just shocked that Activision was so quick to call out the announcement and the date of it. You'd think they would have waited till the talk of MW3 died down.

If a mod / advisor / DL could move this thread to http://www.edge-gamers.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=1003 (FPS forum) it would greatly be appreciated.

They did the exact same thing before. They announced Black Ops a few days after MW2 came out, and announced MW3 a few days after Black Ops.

Pretty much just saying, "Hey, there's another one!", without giving out any details.

I'm not upset so much about the initial post, but any thread mentioning CoD posted in the Battlefield forums is going to catch some flak.

I wouldn't worry to much about it, we are a mature bunch. Just very opinionated

I actually did not know this. I can understand they have investors to impress, but it still seems too soon. Probably one of the few companies that I am aware of that has 2 development teams working on the same title. From a business stand point, it is pure genius. From a gamers stand point it just seems loony.
