Cannot connect to wifi

Hi everyone..

Well the other day I was using a webcam application on Skype (Manycam) and I got a blue screen on my computer. It was related to Manycam, that is what it said in the report. My computer restarted, but now will not recognize any wifi networks at all. I am using my laptop as I type this, hooked into my wifi. I am running Windows Vista. Does anyone know what may of caused this issue? I need to be able to use my PC for gaming on wifi cause I do not have an ethernet connection at the moment..any help I would appreciate greatly,

I am not sure what exactly caused this issue, I am not familiar with either programs.

If you'd like, I am off band, college, and work tomorrow, we could talk over STEAM and try to diagnose this from your laptop.

Hmm.. the only time I had this issue is when I had problems with the actual motherboard drivers. I ended up having to wipe all the drivers out and re-install each one. Was such a pain. Eventually I just backed everything up and reformated :/

definately try reinstalling the drivers fro your wi-fi card. See if it is being detected by your pc, and go from there.

I asked Dr. Google and he came up with a possible diagnosis. Check out this persons' BSOD issue with manycam HERE. Although this does not explain issues with the WiFi, the possibly corrupted drivers can certainly play a role in its inactivity.

You can try jcgriff2's method of running the verifier to log any future crashes, but I'm leery of this after reading the OP's issues with slowness after running the verifer. If you do happen to log the crash, ask Dr. Google what it means and research results.

In any case, from what I'm reading, it seems the ManyCam_x64.sys driver has caused many problems with peoples systems...

Kind of a bump/update here.

I did a little research and found out that it is related to my Wireless Adapter. When I boot up the system, it gets a Code 10 error (basically it cannot start)
I googled what might cause this and some of the results suggested there could be a data overflow, so I ran CCleaner for my registery and found over 800 corrupted files. I ran CCleaner on Saturday and I have no idea how I got that many errors in such a short period of time. Do you guys have any advice as to what I should try now? I still cannot connect to the wifi, but at least I now know why it isn't working.

Check to see if your wireless drivers are install, you view that by going into your device manager, if they are right click and choose uninstall and reboot, upon reboot windows should install them again see if that works.

Mmm..I uninstalled the adaptor and rebooted, but now it says it was not successfully installed.

Maybe just try a clean whipe of your hard drive. Re install the OS. And all the drivers. You might have a few drivers corrupted somewhere in the OS

EDIT: Or look on the internet for updated drivers? download them on your laptop and transfer the driver downloads onto your other computer and isntall them. Or buy a 100 ft ethernet cord and just download it. lol

I think i'm gonna take it into PC Guru and have them check it out. I will be getting a modem soon for ethernet internet. Thank you all for your help!
