Would you guys consider this to be an exploit?

1. That commentator made my laugh.

2. Considering they're kind of going out of bounds going to places otherwise inaccessible, I could see it being considered an exploit at the same time though you can get up there with helicopters on some of those maps.

My vote is a yes bordering on no but a yes nonetheless.

If they can get to that place without going out of bounds or using a vehicles or this trick the spot is legal. As to using the trick... props to them for not falling. I'll talk it over with other leadership.

Thing is oh some maps like wild said you can get there with air vehiles and just parachute in, so how would you really know other witnessing it happening. I think a long discusion about it in the furture if its done more. I would vote yes because MAV is not ment to be used like that.

So far as I've heard there have yet to be any rulings on what may be considered exploits in BF3 but personally I'd let it ride on any of the maps where there are air vehicles already. Getting to high places from a heli or jet is pretty easy but it's almost a waste of a player since real long range sniping is so much harder than it was in BC2. Also, you're easily spotted and quite vulnerable to opposition air vehicles in those places. As for Tehran, Metro, Bazaar and Seine, definitely an exploit.

Edit - The two spots they show on Caspian can easily be reached just by dropping a spawn beacon in the right spot making the MAV more trouble than it's worth.

you could do this in BC:2 with the UAV's - and as i remember, it was called an exploit there.

This. They are using the MAV to get to a spot that is not accessible from the ground (think wind turbines on Heavy Metal). Even if it was a map with air vehicles, if they use them to get an unfair, advantageous viewpoint that other people cannot get to and was not intended to be used as a combat zone, it is considered exploiting on our servers. Same rule that we've had since this past January.

That is hilarious lol. Sad part is, all the places they are getting to look like places that were made for players to get to...*sigh* I hope DICE does something to open up buildings and allow players to fairly get to spots like these. Yes I would consider this an exploit.

That's true abut looking like players were originally suppose to be able to get to these spots. Like removing the ladder in the antenna in Caspian border. I don't see why it was done, but evidently Dice had their reasons.

I don't think the airspace is out of bounds, so I don't think it is an exploit . . .

. . . however . . .

When that sniper next at the top of the highest point or tower starts getting head shot after head shot (aimbots), it pisses me off.

I actually like them up there, especially when they are pointed out. Makes for fun targets. Please people, point out any unusual sniper nests.

As LilShortstuf and Slazenger have said, this directly violates our rule set. Any area accessible only by going out of bounds, using air vehicles, or glitches is against our rules.

For now. This rule may change after the admin round table.
