Lately ( the last month or so i have been witnessing an inordinant amount of people taking extremely little to no damage from hits..5 hits for 6 damage 1 hit 1 damage 2 hits 3 damge are a common occurence on every round of every map i play on..i know im old but man..is it possible there is a cheat(script) going around im unaware of? :scared:

It's been like that since the update. They reduced the damage given by several of the guns and the registration has been terrible since.

I don't know what guns you guys are talking about, they powered up most of them or left the damage the same :p

But I think they reduced damage for bullets going through objects before they hit your opponent, thats what happens when I get those 6 in 1's and 14 in 2's.

It wasn't the damage that they changed it was the moving accuracy for most of the guns that changed.

This is from the October 13th update:
Counter-Strike: Source
Prevent AWP cycle time exploit using quick switch
Fixed bug causing HUD History to display item pickups from nearby players
Increased sized of HUD History resource to prevent clipping
Changed grenade damage so that it always hits HITGROUP_GENERIC and takes into account armor for damage calculations
Reduced standing and moving accuracy for pistols
Decreased accuracy while moving with sniper rifles
Added additional legacy mode (3) to cl_dynamiccrosshair
Updated the localization files

I know a lot of discrepancies between gun registration and player's hit-boxes has to do a lot with the amount of clients currently connected to the server. You'll witness this when you play throughout the day. Usually in the morning when there are fewer players gun registry seems to be good. But when 25+ players are on, the amount of information being sent by each client to the server can really interfere with the registry.

But physics involve everything?

I found the reg is worse but I compensate for it by using " faster guns" P90 for example. It also seems to help to set your cl_interp 0.03 and rate@35000 on most CSS servers. Hope that helps.

I've noticed with servers with tons of custom content and plugins make the reg even worse.

"Decreased accuracy while moving with sniper rifles"

this makes me sad. does that mean you can't be accurate with the scout while skating anymore?
