Beta Weekend for Star Wars: The Old Republic

<div style="width: 500px; text-align: center" align="center">If you have been anxious to play Star Wars: The Old Republic, now is your chance! This month, Bioware is going to stress test their servers by hosting their biggest testing weekend to date. If you signed up for beta testing before 11/11/11 then you are in luck. If you didn't sign up for beta testing before 11/11/11 you won't be receiving an e-mail from the Star Wars dev team, but you still have a chance to participate. Bioware has given beta codes for people still wanting to participate in the beta (listed below). You must be at least 18 to participate.

If you have already gotten an e-mail saying that you have been chosen to test the beta, do not try to get one of the codes from one of the external websites and enter it. It will kill your chance to play in the beta. Even if you don't get a chance to play the beta, Early Access for pre-orders starts on December 15th, leaving you with just enough time to play before the game is officially released. Also remember to apply to one of the guilds and sign the roll call if you haven't already.

If you have questions contact a member of Op:X leadership focusing on Star Wars:</div>

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

yyyyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!

I don't think it kills your chance of playing in the beta at all if you take a beta key. It's just kind of a D-bag move as you take away someones chance that otherwise wouldn't have gotten one without the key.

OMG OMG CAN'T WAIT FOR THE WEEKEND!!!

On a seperate note, should we try to all play on the same server to help each other and make the beta experience more awesome?

The Universe shall bow before the Empire...

I played during last week's stress test, so fun :). Only problem, I could only complete 3 quests on my jedi consular and then I couldn't find anymore. Anyone know if its a bug?

Were any of those quests your class quest? My friend was complaining about how he couldn't find any quests which had made 0 sense to me as we were the same base class just striking for different advanced classes. Turns out he missed the very very first quest for his class and had to go all the way back. I would check your beginning area pretty thoroughly until you get a quest in the quest log that is labeled as your class quest.

I did all of the class quests in the main area on Tython, then searched everywhere else. Only found one quest for a class trainer and after that, nothing :(

It might have been a bug then cause once I picked up the class quest for my Inquisitor. It pretty much never went away as soon as I completed one it started the next one in the chain. That or whatever class you were playing's quest chain is just severely broken but I feel we would have heard more ranting. At least you would have I wouldn't hear any whiny Jedis above my force lightning so :) j/k

Can't wait to play with you guys I just got done playing the beta this past weekend it was by far the best game I have ever played especially PvP.

I've already been chosen to beta test. I love pre-registration benefits. :D

I received an email saying I had been invited to test the game, but no other information was given. I've verified that it is from a legit source, so what do I do next? When does the test begin?

Ten Ton Hammer is giving them away for free with no registration.

Get one. Open your email. Make sure you got it.

Register for an acct on the TOR website if you do not already have one.

Take that code from your email and go to your acct info on the TOR website and there is a claim promo code selection in the list.

Enter the code. You will receive confirmation and another email.

Download the game and we will see you this weekend.

Just did this for the wife this morning so she can run with me this weekend. I played last weekend for over 30 hours. It is the best MMO I have played in almost 10 years of playing them. Everyone should give it a try.

If you do not want to spoil anything for launch you can play the opposite faction. It is a different storyline. In fact every class has a different story line so you can play a different class and not ruin anything.

Maybe its me and maybe I am getting old and grrrr... but 60 - $100+ to buy the game then $14.95 a month to play??! Is that correct? That's insane to me. I played Eve for years and I was ok with dl'ing the game and paying a monthly fee. But to buy the game and pay a monthly fee is just too much for me. Is it really worth it? Not in the budget for me anyway, says the boss :)

I have never really looked into this game & not sure it would be for me so i think I'll let those who like it use the key/s.

I was in a previous week, but didn't get to play due to lack of internet, will trying for another key somewhere else disqualify us from future chances in that case?

If you signed up for beta testing before 11/11/11 do NOT again I repeat as in my original post do NOT get a beta code from an external site and redeem the code. It will screw up your chances of playing in the weekend beta test.

Why would getting a code from an external site ruin your chances of participating?

If you try to redeem it on the Star Wars website after you have already gotten a beta e-mail it will. As for it killing your chance I read it from the post on the Star Wars website they said it I just passed along the message.
