PVP and PVE

Star Wars The Old Republic offers a diverse array of both PVP and PVE content.

http://www.swtor.com/info/systems/warzones Warzones, will be the games PVP Battlegrounds, with interesting missions within, and the AWESOME Huttball, it seems Bioware has a good understanding of PvP, supported by the fact that some of the project members worked on Warhamme Online, a pvp god so to speak. (The link provide video trailers for three of the many warzones in game.

http://www.swtor.com/info/systems/flashpoints Flashpoints are the games group PVE instances, offering a familiar yet innovative PVE experience. (The link provides an in-game walkthrough of the flashpoint Taral V, up to the first boss, showing gameplay, and a great moral dilemma in the engineering section...)

http://www.swtor.com/info/systems/operations Operations are PVE raids for so far up to 16 people. With multiple confirmed difficulties, the opportunity for loot is huge. While there is still many things to learn about them, developers have confirmed multiple Operations upon release (Link provides summary of the mission of the Operation, Eternity Vault, and developer walkthrough up to the first boss, i strongly suggest watching it).

This is just some of the information on the expansive content available to players in SWTOR. My question to you is, where do you stand on experiencing it? Are you PVE focused, and hoping to frequent Operations and flashpoints? Are you going to become a Huttball champion? Somewhere in between?

What do you think of these features and which of them do you think you are going to experience most?

I'm going to focus at least 90% of my energy on PvE. It's rare that PvP attracts me in MMOs because it's hard to get anyone interested in organizing their efforts instead of just leaping headlong into things and mashing buttons.

DCUO PvP entertained me because it had a mode that made for a level playing field in terms of character progression. PvP was mostly skill-based and button-mashers and non-team-players died horribly.

I'm sure I'll try it out, but only with Guildies. I hate doing pickups in PvP.

I'm more interested in learning encounters in the FPs/OPs and having fun with friends with minimal frustration, to be honest. PvP just tends to frustrate me.

Thanks Zeak,

I thought, given the fact that the eGO SWTOR guilds were not strictly PVP or PVE, that it would be a good idea to try an get an idea of how many people might do what. I for one will probably be 95% PVE so I specifically wondered given that the Empire guild has circa 90 members so far, what are the chances that it will be easy to organize flashpoint and Operation groups.

I think as long as we set up scheduled events for the Operations, we should have no problem getting enough people. In fact, we'll probably get to a point where we have to turn people away.

At first, the numbers may be thin as the fast-levellers are eager to start raiding while the slower people are still catching up. But once everyone has caught up, I can't see us having trouble forming up 8-16 people for Ops.
