I finally did it. I finally got a headshot kill with a sniper rifle that is commendable. I just unlocked the M98B a few hours ago, and I have to say, it pretty much tops all other sniper rifles (besides the M39 EMR, haven't tried it yet). After messing around on Hardcore 1000 ticket servers on Op. Metro Conquest, I decided to hop onto a server with an actual map for conquest :P. I found myself on Kharg Island with this awesome rifle. But then I wondered, where can I snipe from without being killed:confused1:? Didn't really know, but I remember seeing 2 players on eGO's CQ server sitting in the far west, way past B. I thought the out of bounds area would have popped up by them, but I guess not. Anyway, I drove up to this area to find I have a full view of the map (besides the annoying low res trees). This is when I saw my target. It was a russian, looked like support from where I was, running out of their spawn. I took aim, and fired. Flew too high, fired again, too low. At this point, this guy was dodging and weaving, firing in multiple directions. Then he stopped to drop ammo. This was probably my last chance, since he was getting close to containers, where I might lose him. So I took aim and fired. It felt like an eternity, but when I saw that X (hitmarker), I knew I got him. Thats when I saw it: Marksman 722. I couldn't believe I hit a guy over 700 meters away :lol:!

Anyone else have any unbelievable stories in bf3 (doesn't have to be sniper related)Also proof:

Also, the printscreen button never works for me, its so messed up.
 
Well there goes one of the best kept sniping secrets on Kharg Island....

My longest head shot is 591m with the SV98.
 
Congratz!! You probably got too excited to remember the screen shot,we heard all the Hooping and Hollaring all the way to the Heavy Metal server. LOL, But what a Sweet Shot. Swamp :)

I like long range sniping but I am more of a short range recon, I like running up with the M98 and killing the whole family around a flag, using a ACOG and suppressor I can basically remain hidden and become their worst nightmare lol
 
Ha! Grats! hehe i think the best in the beta was like 700 something.

My best snipe shot was like 200 meters at kharg. Running to take e from b, had a sniper in the window throw a failshot and tell me where he was. Second floor. I dunno how i did it, but i stopped, crouched and nailed him on the first shot.

Ummm, something cool that DID happen to me though, was at kharg too, actually. i think i was in front of b, and was just doing some AA with my missiles. Anyway, i lock onto this guy flying directly over me, let it loose, knowin he has flares and i gotta hit him on the next one. Anyway he hears it coming while passing over b, and starts to dive, and, right before he hits the ground, lets flares loose.

Sadface right?

Nope. He had flared just before a tank sitting on friendly mines.

Awesome man! Mine is 220-something, got it on Tehran from US spawn sniping to A (with SV98). I like the way BF3 tracks your longest headshot, as it keeps competition high and intense. In BC2 my record was 378 (give or take) on Isla Inocentes, which was way more than it seems in comparison to BF3 and the larger maps. Cheers!
 
Just got 4 headshots with 1 M98B round on a Hardcore server. Unfortunately when I tried to make a screenshot, my game crashed >_> It was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen....probably why I couldn't get a screen of it lol
 
I made a 732m with the SV98. Now the 500m headshots are easy. I made like 5 in a row haha.
