In my opinion they are the best.

I had one of those things when i was little. The thing bit me in the wrist for petting her so we killed it. I suggest getting a golden retriever. Mine just passed away of a seizure a couple of months ago. By far the best dog i've had, they're gentle and they listen well and learn fast if trained right.

I recommend mixed breed dogs for a couple reasons. They tend to have fewer health problems than full breeds. They also usually have a better temperament than full breeds. I also recommend adopting as many shelters are overrun with animals and as soon as a spot is open it is filled with new animals.
