I second that, the houses were taken off before I joined and am sure that there was a good reason for it. I think things are great the way they are now.

not saying we should bring back houses, but in my opinion things are far from being great at the moment, something really needs to be done to keep dods alive, i'd rather have rivalry and excitment than a docile decline of any activity whatsoever, just to keep peace or something (really whats the worst that can happen with something like houses anyway? some people leave or get banned? it happens anyway).
I wasn't in eGO when the houses were, and I think it would be fun if they were back in. BUT, They did have a good reason for taking them out. The houses caused a lot of "my house is better" bickering, and even though the leaders tried to make it as friendly as possible, they still couldn't prevent the bickering. Eventually an entire house (I don't know which one) decided to just leave the clan, and the leadership thought they needed to shut it down before things got out of hand. That's why they stopped having the houses, and that's why they won't bring them back. Keep in mind, this is all just what I've heard, and that I wasn't actually there.

One of the MANY downsides of houses was the territorial pissing that came with different houses "owning" different servers. I was a DL (for like... a week?) when I went into the Flash server. Keep in mind, I had been the house leader for the Raiders (-TR- tags) who's home map was Donner. Anyway, I go into Flash and there was a guy swearing up a storm. I did the usual W/K/B... and then had five or six RD's and HH's (Reservoir Dogs and Hell Hounds) jump down my throat for admining on THEIR server. Because I didn't have THEIR tags on, on THEIR server, apparently the fact that I was a full fledge admin (and outranked all the other players on the server) was NOT a good enough reason for me to take care of a guy who had been dropping the F bomb every 3 seconds.
My point? Houses created animosity, territorial issues, and a few admins to be demoted because they put houses before eGO. Bringing them back is a sure fire way to divide this division even more and chase more members off to other divisions or clans entirely. :thumbdown:

Houses will not be back so let that go. Brain is right to an extent though, all of leadership knows my opinions on the matters, and they should know yours too. So when we have the admin round table we need to let them know what we think should be done.

Exactly, you cant complain about it if you don't do anything to try and fix it
yeah, maybe part of my frustration is having no idea what leadership is doing, its just very annoying to take a break for a month or 2 and find more than half the folk you played with gone.
the round table is a good idea though, having more debate on the forums on decisions would be nice too (democracy)
