Newegg/UPS shipping

I recently ordered an hdmi cable long with a Xbox 360 game from newegg, i've orderd stuff from there before and never had an issue. My question is i looked at my tracking code for my xbox game and early this morning it was in Lexington, KY which is like 2-3 hours from my house, but at 1:36pm it was in Addison,IL. Why did it go to a totally different state instead of being delivered to my house? My address is still the same and enterd correctly.

As a truck driver i can probably help answer this. Basically the way shippers like FedEx/UPS/DHL ect work is a flawed system in the eyes of most consumers (and even some drivers) but somehow it works better and faster than what we might think would be.

When I ordered some stuff off amazon it usually ships from Cincinnati and stops at like 2 different states.

I'm guessing it's to make them more efficient by sending dropping off packages from Cincinnati going to Kentucky and Texas. Kind of like direct flights.

I'm guessing for you Lexington is the closest post office which receives packages from other states/countries. Just like League City in my example.

thats mine. It says it was scheduled for early delivery for today, original delivery was tomorrow.

Sorry for double post, but another question how long do they usually deliver?
My HDMI cable went out for delivery at 5:31am and its now 6:56pm and not here yet. The place its from is only an hour away.

Mostly it's by the end of the day. So you can expect it around 3 or 6. I'm pretty sure that's what they mean when they say that

Well the game went out for delivery at 6am but the wire was missed at the UPS facility so hopefully it'll be delivered today.

I've had the exact same thing happen to me! for some reason it happens rarely and its for the exact same reason rouge said! but that doesnt mean it isnt frustrating. Try ordering something on a non business day thats why i do that way the computers have time to process routes correctly!
