New Battlefield 3 patch problems begin with ?useless? IRNV scope

I have no opinion on what happens to this scope. I myself use the Reflex Red Dot or the PK-A(3.4x) and I am doing just fine. (just look at my sig)
There is a lot of other fixes by EA/DICE and this will be covered eventually.

I cant believe that dice would intentionally make a scope useless. The first video posted, well instead of helping to acquire targets that one makes them disappear. Again that cant be intentional... sloppy maybe... or as others have said, a tampered video.

At the end of the day, I dont know why so many people complain, as kerak and others have said, its not hard to play well without that IRNV scope. Does it give people an unfair advantage? I personally dont think so.

The main advantages of the IR scope is to find people who are hidden, or hiding behind bushes or in dark corners etc...

It helps to have one person in the squad who can spot snipers and such and that's the main job of the IR scope, to detect heat signatures. So why make it useless?

In regular close CQB the IR scope really doesn't have any advantages, it seems to take longer to acquire a good site picture as apposed to iron sites and since it completely changes the layout colors on your screen it can make it even more awkward and doesn't really give any advantages at all. In fact if you equip the IR at close range you're almost making it harder on yourself, this is how I've found it anyways. I'd prefer iron sites (And often use them) over the IR scope on metro, bazar etc.

Taking away its long distance capability is really just making it useless. So whats the point of even having it in the game?

Here's a jet that doesn't fly, here's a grenade that doesn't explode. Its the same thing.

They need to work on fixing REAL issues like scopes on sniper rifles reflecting sunlight when A) you're not facing into the sun, or B) ITS A NIGHT MAP or make it so you can cook grenades. These are the real issues, not how well you can see people using a weapon site that is simply doing its job.

If they nerf the IR rifle site, they might as well nerf the IR for air and tanks as well, make it useless all the way around.

The whole point of the grenades not being able to be cooked in the first place is to create and even playing ground between experienced players and newbs.

If you add that feature to the game.. The game will be played the way call of duty was and still is being played... spam cooked grenades everywhere.

The percentage of survival is already slim when a grenade gets throw next to you while you're in the prone position. Add that feature...guess where the % of survival goes down to....

lol i still think you should be able to jump on a nade and get a medal of honor ribbon for it and eventually a medal lol. the fuse is only 3.5 seconds so as stated by sexy its pretty unsurvivable. but I dont think the feature would make people spam them everywhere unless its 64 metro conq or something.
