i want to share my oppinion about the new patch for battlefield 3 that was released today

so i feel that all the nerfs mainly on IRNV and tactical light will ruin this game,
just because people couldn't handle it or use countermeasures like spec ops cammo for IRNV and IRNV for tactical light.

my personal oppinion is this game is partially ruined due to the mass nerfs
you can read about it here:
http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/forum/threadview/2832654489494744784/

now id like to hear YOUR oppinion but try to give detailed answers instead of just one line, its more fun to read those ;)

without further ado.. let the debate begin :)

I think the game would be better overall had they not included the IRNV and Taclight at all, but that ship has sailed. The patch didn't break the game, ruin it, or make it unplayable, just a little different. Adapt and you'll be fine.

nerfing the tact light or irnv isn't a game breaker. The IRNV, in my opinion, is a crutch. You shouldn't NEED the IRNV to be able to kill anything, it's a useful tool for locating people hiding in bushes, but you shouldn't be an all or nothing game breaker. As for the tact light.... I never used it, and I didn't it see it being used very often by others, I don't think the nerf will affect it's use that much, considering it didn't seem like it was used that much at all ( this is all my opinion)

It certainly didnt ruin anything. It enhanced what was already a great experience. IRNv shouldnt even of been added in the game in the first place theres only 1 night map and downstairs of metro. Second the Flashlight wasnt tactical to begin with just noobtical. Personally im very glad maybe now they will be more true skill shown with people needing to use reg scopes or none and not using f2000 with irnv and tac light.

Just my opinion.

What I've noticed is that plane controls have been tweaked, like now its much easier to do a front pitch
now than previously and the roll is much more sensitive. But it doesnt seem to be a huge difference....still gettin those MAV kills

im pretty bored with the game anyway. its pretty easy and i have unlocked everything ground wise. i came to play competitively and didn't get a chance to so i personally am just waiting on starwars. it was fun the first couple weeks

I strongly disagree with the notion that this patch has "ruined" the game. I am not sure what the current status of the IRNV is, however, the Tactical Flashlight behaves in a way that I consider not only realistic but also balanced. Let us not forget the times when a chat window covered half our screen and we had no idea what the ping numbers were. The AN-94 may be quite powerful now but I prefer its current state to its former. Also I find it interesting how quickly people forget how annoying mortars were and how they have been toned down appropriately. All in all, in my opinion, this patch has made the game more balanced and enjoyable.

The two items that I have noticed I think are a step backward. The IRNV is too cloudy now, I never believed it needed to be nerfed. The TV missile is extremely hard to control now. With that said I think the ability to keep the chat-log up is a good thing but they should allow it to be scrollable. The ability to see other players ping (although not your own) is an improvement.

wow you seem negative of the game lol you have to keep on changing your style of play to keep things interesting, I have seen people who only play one class because that is what they are good at but thats not the point of the game, Try out new maps and new strategies and your interest will be renewed.

I love the patch, I didn't get sprayed down by a f2000 at 100 yards once. the an94 is sweet (only for burst though, auto still has way to much recoil even though its the same round as the ak74 and a smaller calliber bullet than all other assault rifles 5.45 vs 5.56/7.62(what were they thinking)) love the reduced accuracy of full auto and its good for players who want to get better, allowing them to understand that firing in bursts is > auto at mid-long range. (not necessarily burst fire mode but it helps)

I havent really messed around with jets or helis since, but there are alot of people complaining about the changes but IMO don't hover in one spot if you don't want to get straifed by the jet.

Chat box is awsome but dont like that they turned off team/ squad chat colors for the different chat modes.

But still had trouble loading into games occasionally and I still expierenced our servers crashing.

I think it's better now, its still not perfect, but I felt that IRNV definately need a nerf, if for nothing than the argument that they were so popular. When everyone has the same loadout (IRNV ext mag USAS frag) it really diminishes the complexity, diversity, surprises, and fun of the game (for me at least). I kinda like the flashlight tho, I can't for the life of me figure out why snipers sit at their spawn with it on, maybe showin-off, but it makes em easy to hit. It did need a nerf tho, I dont think it should be so bright in the middle of the day, at 20 yards. All in all, I think the guns are balanced, ppl say f2000 is op, but i find it hard to use (aek ftw). 12g frags r better now, not like 15lb howitzer. I think smoke needs to last longer, but meh. It's really playable, I like it.

So happy the IRNV-1 Scope got nerfed, the justification is in the truth that almost everyone used it because if you didn't you were at a major disadvantage from most standpoints. On top of this, now people will actually have to use their eyes to pick out enemies instead of the scope doing it for them. It's a crutch, always has been, always will be; and the players that were carried along by it will eventually get over it and keep playing or leave, either of which is fine by me. :D

As for the TV guided, yeah, that sucks. :(
USAS is only "famous" and "op" right now due to Op Metro 24/7 servers, hardly anyone with any common sense uses the weapon elsewhere unless they're just screwing around, there's almost always a better option. Frag rounds are fine.

Tac light needed a nerf because of how bright it was at ALL distances. Light doesn't work that way, lasers do; which is why the laser isn't being complained about as much. I haven't personally noticed the tac light's nerf yet because I haven't ran into anyone using it that had the chance to shine it in my face. I would assume it's reduction in brightness over distance is probably a bit more than what it's real-life counterpart would be, which is good.

I'm glad they are working on game balance and stuff, but why are people still crashing after almost every game, or crashing trying to join a game?

I get the balancing of stuff, but if we can't get in to play, what is the point of the other fixes.

Yes, this is my complaint about this not being fixed in this patch.

/agree

ALL these crashes cant be my fault...

lol... something like this:

*joins server*
"Game Disconnected: Something went wrong."
*rejoins server*
"Disconnected from EA online."
*rejoins server*
(everything works perfectly)

....

dude i play everything.... the game is just simple to me now. this counters that, teams have to have a player carry them so on and so forth. boring

If you are not enjoying the game as much now as you were previously that's fine. The simple solution to that is to stop playing. The difficulty of the game is determined by the players you are up against as well as the server settings. I do not see what your post has to do with the Patch. Its not like they removed content and the game is no more "simple" than before. In fact, they are adding an expansion in a few days with additional content to play and unlock. As far as playing competitively try to join the Alienware Tournament going on right now... you would be a little late but who knows you might find a spot.

its a good game and all, would be fun if we played like a team more i guess *shrug* no it has nothing to do with the patch.

Well I dont like the shotgun changes, no surprise there since i love using shotties. But the flashlight change was very much needed because it was completely unrealistic in its brightness but I didnt see in the notes about the brightness going away IN THE DAYTIME maps, which irked me its like ok, nerf its brightness distance but dont touch the fact thats it is as blinding in the daylight as it is in a pitch black tunnel. frowny facy:(

Thank the DICE for making the IRNV useless. I feel much better now. Now I am seeing more people use regular scopes. The Tactical Light is better for longer range dimming/day time maps. AN-94 is super OP now like it was in BC2, which to me its bad. All auto shotty's and the nerf to their 12g Frag rounds are balanced now.

All in all the patch was good not great.

Until my Javelin gets the damage buff it needs. If the just do "Javelin missiles fired without laser targeting now do more damage to the side and rear of MBTs." or to all vehicles I will be happy again. I am and will always be a Battlefield Engineer.

Cya on the battlefield
