About Engine Error

Like when i log into maps either than orange maps, i sometimes get this "engine error" a long with "Internal Driver Error in IDirect3DDevice9:resent()"


Yeah when theres like a lot of people in a map(either than orange map server) i lagg a little in the choose team screen, and IF i get through the process of choosing team and class, i get in the game and then after a few minutes or so(very randomly) i get DCed with the same Engine Error.

Then few seconds later BAM, game closes and error pops up.

So like anyone know how to fix this error of mines? that would be a good help.

This tends to be an issue with dx. It;s corrupted, out of date, simply behaving like a Microsoft product, or something related to that.

I'm going to assume that you are using windows XP.

Hit Start-->Run

Type dxdiag and hit enter.

Use that to figure out what version of dx you are running. This info can be found at the bottom of the window that pops up, under the "system" tab.

Please reply with your directX version.

Well you do seem to have a recent dx9, download it and install again.

I have similar "Internal Driver Error..." messages like that before, but my case a lil' bit different. I only got it when I got sent to Windows while playing. It was something to do with me graphic card. After I updated it, the problem didn't come anymore.

Did you install new card? Just wondering, that's all.

My problem is that either I get the "engine error"message , or the computer locks up so that I have to turn it off at the switch!! This ONLY happens with Kalt, all others seem to be working fine.
I even went as far as to wipe Steam and reload.

I've read somone in my years of being a nerd that if you disable all p2p programs like msn messenger and all torrent programs that it eliminates some of the dx problems.

I always do that whenever I play DoD. Even turning off my antivirus software, MSN messenger & Spyware Terminator just to get low ping. Even then my ping still around 350-450.
