Can we stop?

no idea what your talking about, but if you have issues with eGO members stacking teams we have a drop box for a reason..

ahhhhh the drop box the solution to most problems.... but who is stacking teams, do u mean pubs, our fellow clan mates or both?

I personally have never witnessed team stacking from eGO members. The one instance we were all on one team was when the autobalance managed to put us all together and that game we got rocked.

Stuff like this is better suited to the forums NOT the drop box, the members need to see and be part of the conversations on issues such as team stacking. The a drop box post on this issue would yield no fruit what-so-ever. now back to the topic, Team Stacking has been addressed several times on both the forum and in Ventrillo and still continues to plague the BF division. I personally gave up months ago on any real and lasting resolve to this issue, people want to play with their friends on vent and stack accordingly though what irritates me more is when people switch to the winning team just because it is steam rolling the other team. That to me is just ignorant. A few days ago in bc2 I partook in a thrashing that went on for about 6 maps, Thykon offered to switch when able and I thanked him. After he switched however we still lost but so did the other team. It evened out the teams a bit and created a balance where both teams defended a bit better and it became more back and fourth than one sided. For this I commend Thykon as there are several others (I wont bother with names) that would have done the opposite or nothing at all! There is a definite lack of Camaraderie at ALL levels in the BF Division that needs to be addressed, When I first joined it felt a lot more like a family than it does today... Anyway! I am done with my rant for now.

I don't think eGO members ever purposely stack teams, it's hard to stack a team when it's 32v32 anyway. Most of the time it's just the guys that are in vent together wanting to work together in a squad... because that's whats BF3 is all about anyway, teamwork. So I wouldn't be so quick to call our clan having fun together in a group "team stacking."

I wasn't like, trying to nag at people. Just supposed to be a friendly reminder to give the underdog team a shot! XD

Every 2 out of 3 games I play, is won by the stacked team. Sadly, it seems EA/Dice set up some kind of Stack Team balance system. (I got jokes)

The good news is that sometimes after a drubbing, people leave and the teams balance themselves out.......sometimes.

^^ this is almost always the case from what I've experienced.

if u r playing on a server that does not have team balance running this is what happens. might not be anyone fault, most people join on a friend threw battlelog and it then sometimes might result in that happening. teams being stacked that is.

We are testing a new balance plug-in on the Metro and Airmaps server. If it continues to do well, we will most likely copy it to all bf3 servers, to alleviate much of this issue.

i was recently on a server, my side had 8 players and the other had 11 (it varied as people joined and left). 11-team had about 6 people with 2000+ scores and 8-team had 2 above 1000+.
I could barely get out of the spawn area before being hit by a LAV or sniper or rocket.

Would it surprise anyone to learn that now, 20 minutes after I'd have enough of it and left myself, the server has 1 person on the server?

I have seen teams become unintentionally stacked, it does happen. This can be a difficult issue to address. The reason I say that is that =(eGO)= members or other gaming clans, especially when on Ventrilo, want to be on the same team. Once you have a squad of people who can all communicate they often distribute squad perks correctly, use spawn beacons, use SOFLAM/Javelins, and get in the same vehicle etc... This often times gives their team an advantage. Personally I find teams do get unbalanced sometimes and no one likes to lose but the reality is that teams will never be 100% balanced 100% of the time. If it becomes unbalanced to the point where half of the server wants to rage quit... then I think =(eGO)= members and even pubs should switch teams to ensure interesting matches.

This seems to almost be bordering on trolling.

Do you really not understand? Jumping out of a plane and shooting down another plane with rocket isREALLY COOL. Stacked teams, well that can just make the game incredibly frustrating sometimes and take the fun out of it.

Im really not getting how these two are supposed to be related.

hehe, fix'd

Even better is c4ing it and kamikazeing whatever tank you find XD (b/c I suck and can't fly :\ )

Hehe, what i actually don't get is why everyone's up in arms about this, lol.

I wasn't saying there's a conspiracy of the illuminati for all players to play as the US. And I wasn't trying to SUMMON THE HIGH COUNSEL OF ELDERS. I dunno, jes saying give the pubs a shot. It makes our servers a lot more fun. And if your definition of fun is sniping in to the uncap, well obviously you've never strapped 6 bundles of c4 to your jet and run it into the mcom :p

Can you give any details, Left? Is it based on 'skill' ? gameme.com stats?

This thread is hilarious lol

Unfortunately, there isn't a fully developed balancer that balances the sides based on skill. If there is, we haven't found it. The current team balancer switches the last person who joins the server regardless of skill. For example, if it's 18 vs 16, it'll switch the 18th player to make it 17 vs 17. It's not the best, but it is a solution.

The problem that we're facing is that if we add more pluggins or a huge pluggin, it'll lag our servers. That plus the random crashes from DICE will hit our server rankings and our recruiting numbers. We are testing it on the Op Metro and Air Map servers and we're looking into some other options; if you have a suggestion, as always, please submit them into the Dropbox.

Also guys, keep in mind what some of your responses can come across. Some of the responses so far are borderlining insulting/trolling. Before this gets out of hand, remember that the Division Discussion forums are there for discussing events, gaming, and keeping a good rapport with the division and community. It's not to take jabs at each other or start flame wars.

I previously made a thread on this topic myself, targeting the same object. Teamstacking is real, it isn't a joke, and it upsets people enough to make them leave our servers. Many people don't even have a congruent definition. To me, teamstacking is when one team or group of players on one team is consistently doing better than the opponent or steamrolling them. Generally, its seen as a greater "crime" when committed by members, but this isn't always intentional. Misinterpretation happens.

Sure, I'm happy to end a game with a positive KDR or a load of points, and I'm sure many of you will agree, but on the same token I've come away from the best rounds cursing or whooping the outcome. Skill and fun aren't equivalents. If they were, I'd have left long ago. However, fun isn't getting killed, and killed, and destroyed every round.

But how do you stop it? As stated, there isn't any magic cure-all for teamstacking. It has to sort itself, and sometimes its best to leave if the game frustrates you that much. Keep in mind, anger only decreases your reflexes and skills. Now, if you want to put an end to it...be daring. If you're losing, ask for help. Never laugh or mock someone asking for help; its not polite and you will be reported to leadership and talked to. If you're winning, leave your squadmates from Ventrilo, hop onto the other team, join a pub squad, be encouraging, kick some ass, and maybe even try for a recruit along the way. If you want to dispute someone intentionally stacking, do it through private messages or Ventrilo, but never in game. Honestly, there will always be an excuse for them to hide behind though (valid or otherwise), and its usually best to leave well alone.

Personally, I rarely switch teams if not to balance them or join some friends. For example, I auto-balanced Metro for itself a few times today. Did it mean I lost some? Yeah. That's the idea. Nothing is fun without a challenge, or with too much a challenge. If you'd like some people to switch teams, ask politely in Ventrilo or chat. Please don't bug people who start threads to switch. I've had a teammate ask me to switch to the other side because I made the thread, and they weren't joking.

In the end, just have fun. If the game is imbalanced, switch for a challenge, or leave temporarily so the teams will balance themselves. One last thing: spread the love, not the hate. ;)

From what I have seen I wouldn't play on 80% of the server in BF3, if I see a bunch of jet ramming, car ramming..etc. I leave the server, ain't worth playing with a bunch of folk that dont know how to use their weapons, but I like realism in my games. I for one can tell you, never in 4 years of combat did I ever see any do this, and in my opinion it should be a bannable offence, and in my BF2 days it was, and I miss those days greatly.
