So I'd like to lay out a scenario that happened yesterday in our HC Rush server and I'd like your opinion on it.
I was on offense at Op Firestorm and at the start of the round I jumped into a tank with a sniper class pubber driving. By the time we were about to hit pavement we were on fire. We both bailed, he went behind a rock outcropping to start shooting and I started repairing the tank. During the time I was repairing the tank was still getting hit and the tank sat empty with the sniper nearby, I assume shooting targets. Once the tank was fully repaired, we both jumped in although now I was the driver.
I pulled out and started doing work, he jumped out a few seconds later, near one of the MCOMs. After doing some serious killing solo, I started getting hit with RPGs and was once again on fire. Assuming I had good cover, I started repairing again. Just before I was about to get back in I got teamkilled by my sniper friend that I started out with. Next thing I see is, "That's what you get for stealing my tank."
So, the pub sniper's actions aside, was I in the wrong? I have always felt that if you jump in the drivers seat in a tank and you're not a engineer, you accept the fact that the tank is going to be your coffin since that's more desirable than giving it up to the other team. If I take the time to repair what is essentially an abandoned tank, it's rightfully mine. I wouldn't even care that much if he took it back and I was in the gunners seat, but the first indication that I had that he felt differently was when he TK'd me.
All of this said, I'm not really upset about this. Just a food for thought post.
