TF2 Server IP Changes

<div style="width: 500px; text-align: center" align="center">All Team Fortress 2 servers have been moved to a brand new dedicated server located in Arizona, USA. In addition to better reliability and performance, all servers are now utilizing the Replay system which will allow you to capture your most awesome game play moments, even on Blackmesa!

The old servers are now locked and will soon be shut down, so don't forget to spread the word about these major changes.

despite rank, just from playing almost everyday, I thought valvemaps did very well at prime time and we love it! i still thing a "valvemaps/warpath/cashworks" server would do very well

btw its the end of the semester, means very few people are playing these days. I think after xmas players will come back.

My ping is incredibly high, hasn't been under 60 after the switch. Was about 20 before. I live in Missouri too which is a lot closer to Kansas than Texas. Is there a reason? Will it get better? Just wondering because I don't know much about servers and stuff.

Yeah, we were talking about this in the other thread; it seems the general consensus is that ping to these servers is far higher than on the old servers. Most people are up above 100ms now. Does anyone from the technical side have answers as to why this is?

I have had the same issue the past few hours. I was idling on the new Blackmesa and it timed out.

My ping is lower... my server response times are better. However, there are lag spikes like crazy now, but when the server is actually running smoothly (it does not do this often at the moment) it works better than the old one.

Ping is now 350 to 400 when it used to be 160. Hope it's just a tech problem :S

well, since servers was moved, my ping increase about 150%, so i can't play in the servers now.
bearing in mind that I am in South America, before I found it hard to play now my ping is at least 350 minimum.
I hope this only for a short time, otherwise, play on eGO servers will be like playing Star Wars with people flying all over the map and through walls.
