I haven't seen a thread about this yet, but I'd throw it out there.

Apparently as engineer, if you get close enough to an enemy explosive(mine, c4, claymore) you can hold 'R' to retrieve/disarm it

I never saw this possible in other BF games, but I have used this to my advantage several times. I just figured I'd post about it, see if anyone knew/talked about it before.

Everytime i did this... i got shot in the back. So now i just like to waste half a clip, a grenade, a c4, a rocket or a teammate.

Now i don't get shot in the back anymore.

Lol? Its realistic. You should be able to clear mines by picking them up as Engineer. It makes you use more strategy.

You could do it in BF2 and BC2. It's fun but I notice that I get 0 points for doing it in BF3. Blowing them up on the other hand..................

Yea in BF2 you could do the same thing, I tried to do it in BC2 with a mine and I died...,cool to see it back

Except they show red on the mini map if they're paying attention. I have noticed enemy claymores showing on the map as well. Not sure if that's for engies only and/or their squad or if anyone spots them.

I think it works on any class when they're spotted. Friendly ones stay on the map though. Such a huge icon for such a small device.
