I have had multiple admins tell me to change my name on the CS:S highschool server, my name only is "Ω" thats all. Other poeple have names that use nonstandard lettering but they only tell me to change mine. When I asked them why it was agaist the rules I got no respones. Also as a note there is nothing in the rules stating that my name is agaist the rules.

So I was wondering if i could get someone in authority to say wether it is ok or not.

I also posted this on general, before I thought that this division might be more apropriate.

Well, that name may be hard for admins. There is no real easy way in-game to type that symbol out. Let's say hypothetically you were cussing or being disruptive on the servers and an admin was to mute, gag, kick, ban you; with a name like Ω it would be hard to punish the right person.

you know what I mean?

You need to match your forum name with your in-game name.Even though its unacceptable if you that symbol on.

You're right, to a point. I believe it is after his name, It is perfectly fine. I know this from past experience, just ask abdul.

So your name is fine!

Since your forum name is "-omega-" it should be that in game, its alright to have that symbol following your name, but you cannot solely have that symbol as your name.

As already stated, because you are an e your forum name should match your in game name. If you wish to not be in the clan, then your name is 100% acceptable.

I can't find the thread right now but at the last meeting, changing names was covered. Basically, your in-game name must match your forum name so that when people get on to say something good/bad or recommend you, they can't easily find your name. This was also discussed on the read before joining thread.

User Name Policy

Make sure your in-game name and forum name are the same.
Capitalization doesn't matter.

Special characters in forum or in-game names are not allowed
Special characters as those which cannot be typed on a USA keyboard without ALT-codes. Standard non-alphanumeric characters ($ % & ! “ { * etc) are allowed but should be kept to a minimum. For example, the name Bob! would be ok, but ☻Bob?? would not.

Special characters are not allowed in your forum name or user name, and the two must match. If you would like to add characters after your name and seperate, that is perfectly fine, but keep it reasonable.

The main reason for this policy is to help admins while in-game, if for any reason they need to contact you, they can do so easily and efficiently.

I noticed as of recently you haven't had the =(e)= tag on , also as a admin this "Ω" can cause a lot of confusion in the server . For one because we can't type "Ω" that becomes a problem . Then if we refer to you as omega that can still cause confusion between Pubs and other admins . So when in server if you could put some letters other than "Ω" would be great . Thank you for Coming to the forums instead of causing a problem in game .

No, It CAN be after his name! LOL

Guys, you're coming at this all wrong. IF IT IS AFTER his name IT IS FINE! lol!

Your name must be eGO appropriate
We are more strict about member names than we are with public players. In other words, there are "gray" names we allow pubs to use that we would not allow from members. Feel free to ask an Advisor or Division Leader if you need clarification on borderline names.

Do not add a clan tag, i.e. =(e)=?, =(eG)=?, =(eGO)=?, or any other clan's tag, to your forum name.
However, while in-game, EdgeGamers members must have our tag in front and any other clan tag at the back of the player name.

COD players may use a maximum of 9 characters in-game. In order to keep your forum name and your in game name similar, use an abbreviated name.

The way I read and think about it, It says Your name must be

=(RANK)= NAMEHERE ( In more or less standard English characters found on a keyboard ) Then anything can be placed after.

You only need the name in Standard English Characters as you can then tell who it is and have no problems using your admin with them.

I reckon =(e)=? Ωmega Would be ok.

OK I will try to put this to rest.

Non-Standard characters are not permitted in names that have not been grandfathered in. That period was back in '09.

=(e)=™ Ωmega - Not Acceptable, you signed up with Omega which is what you should be using.

If you wish to put Ω behind your name =(e)=™ Omega, that isn't that bad.
